Any Danville fans care to disclose their thoughts on how a Morris hiring could affect, negatively or positively, Danville's program? I could see some young athletes thinking that Morris' college connections could help them get a college scholarship and thus be inclined to enroll at Boyle in lieu of Danville. Sam is an absolutely fantastic coach, one of the best if not the best high school coach in Ky. But............ kids being kids and parents being parents, I could see the thought entering some minds.

 

I think it would be positive for Danville on things that you mentioned...And Negitive as far as transfers...You can also say the same for people who live in mercer,lincoln co and Garrard co...

Absolutely agree. Only singled out Danville because of the proximity of the two schools (5 minutes or less apart from one another) and the fact both are in the same county.

Seeing how Danville just lost there best athlete to Taylor County (What they have to offer I have no idea) there is no telling how a Morris hire would affect Danville or any of the following counties. There is always someone willing to do the crazy thing.

Yea Danville is the closest,but Mercer CO high school to boyle is around 10 mi

 

I would say Garrad to boyle around 12 mile and lincoln to boyle 13-14 mi...

 

Basicly one big City in the country...

I agree with this post whole heartedly. If you are Boyle County officials however and you pass on hiring a coach with Morris's credentials, I would think you would be taken out behind the woodshed though. If Morris wants the job, despite whether it's the best move for the program, they have to hire him and hope.

That is exactly what I have been thinking. I have been waiting for someone to bring it up. I wonder, if Morris is hired, what effect it will have on surrounding high schools.

I am a Boyle man but Danville is also close to my heart.

 

I don't think adversely effects them at all. There really haven't been many "transfers" in from the Danville program over the years. There have been kids who started grade school in the city but ended up at the County by or before High School.

 

Nobody can think Morris would have an easier path to schollys. Harp has put more than his share of kids into Collegiate Football and his track record as a coach and a program will keep them there.
