I agree and with Lloyd moving up to 3A (I think) I feel the same way about Lloyd and Beechwood and hope they keep playing each other.

With Lloyd moving up to 3A and the possibility of Newport and Holy cross moving down to 1A. What does that mean for Districts for Beechwood?

I would think they’d at least get paired with Walton, Owen, and Gallatin.

I think that depends on your situation. If your district is fairly widespread, and the teams are significantly better and you had no chance of making the playoffs anyway, I can understand why you’d consider it. Or if your are a brand new or program that’s restarting or on the verge of folding. But even in these instances, I would think it would be a last resort, and not something you’d want to do.

Imo makes it seem less than a big deal. Much like how Beechwood and NCC had a nice intense rivalry going in the late 90s early 2000s when they were in 1A together. Then once they ended up in different districts, the game just meant less and less it seemed each year. The game may still have meaning the first few years, but how big of the game is and intensity of it eventually will start to die down, from where it’s currently at. Especially since it will have zero impact on the playoffs and who may have home field if they saw each other again.

Curious as to why you hope Beechwood and Lloyd continue to play each other?

I get that, and agree with your assessment. But at the same time, no one has seen Highlands win for so many years straight, and then CovCath win nine straight, and then finally, HHS pull out a victory due to a botched special teams play. So the programs you mentioned never had the runs/streaks and the games ( the mud bowl, 2006 Bovard catch, 2016 CovCath demolition of HHS in first quarter, CCH blocked FG to Win in 2021) that CCH and HHS had.  
 

There will be no love lost between CCH and HHS. Fort Thomas hires their coach based off of “Beat Colonels”, which was displayed in Franklin Co. Coach who took the job for 2 days. 
 

And CCH fired their previous coach because he couldn’t beat the birds. 

I don’t care who is the coach, what class they are in, or who they have on the team…. CCH vs. HHS will always be a big game. 

Can confirm Trimble County will be staying in 1A and not opt up to 2A this time.

I am struggling to think of any reason why I wouldn't want Lloyd and Beechwood to keep playing.

What is your opinion on them continuing to play?

I hope they don’t put Beechwood in that district with LCA and Danville. That’s a lot of travel.

Like TheConch I agree with fc's assessment of NCC and Beechwood but I also think that CovCath/Highlands is a different animal. Beechwood and NewCath have been going in different directions, one program has been getting better and the other isn't what it was in the recent past.  The fire is still burning between Highlands and CovCath so they should keep playing unless something changes with either program and that doesn't appear likely at the present.
