Just an idea… if Bracken is in 2A.  They should opt to play up in 3A.

District in 2A: Beechwood, LCA, Walton Verona, Daniville

District in 3A: Pendleton, Lewis, Powell, Fleming.

They 100% should, but their district isn’t going to have LCA and Danville in it. I’m not so sure I wouldn’t If I was them as is even just with Beechwood in it.

Beechwood shouldn’t be in a district with LCA and Danville. There are schools closer than Beechwood.

I agree.  Just going with what the one guy said.  Walton Verona and Beechwood are better than any team in that 3A district, though.  I assume that’s who Bracken would be with in 2A. 

Who does Lloyd play in a district with in 3A?  I would assume Pendleton as the closest 3A school.  But which direction would the district go after that?

My personal prediction is Pendleton, Lloyd, Fleming, Lewis, and Bath County.. but Bourbon County may be there instead of Bath. If Bracken would move up then I would have them as the 5th school replace the other B counties.

As I've said before, that district is a big ouch for Danville and would be a big ouch also for Walton-Verona.  Don't see it happening but my goodness, no one would want to be a sister district opposite of that group of teams.

Per the coaches listserv, it appears Central will be remaining in Class 3A instead of playing up to 4A like the last cycle.

No way that 2A district happens like he projected. It is amazing how one person's completely irrational opinion has generated so much alarm. That projection is so bad I question his knowledge and haven't paid attention to any of his stuff.

Interesting, I've heard no such rumors.  They are one of the smallest 3A schools, even under the new realignment.

That would make things very interesting indeed. Remember Lloyd would be in with Pendleton, that is apparent. If Bracken is not offered the chance to fall down to 1A, moving up to 3A would avoid the Beechwood body blows and make a potential for this district: Bracken, Lloyd, Pendleton, Fleming and Lewis.

It appears Powell will be playing south in some other district. The other additions to consider would be Russell, Bath and Bourbon and how they relate to teams closer to them.

Spencer finished top 5 in the RPI in 4A and Bardstown has competed with them year in and year out. By no means am I saying Bardstown would come in and be a top 5 team but I believe they could compete at the same level Spencer does.

I said the same thing when I heard about it. But the rate the school system is growing 800 kids in the elementary alone 4A could be reality sooner then later. Why test the water now?
