Will there be high school football this fall?

I saw FDA is currently evaluating over 70 treatments and reviewing applications of over 200 more. A lot of resources in the bio world being thrown at this virus. I believe one or more of these will be approved by fall.

Last night was very uneasy. Today, things seem much better. Thank you to everyone who has supported our kids playing. And, I genuinely believe having our kids in athletics will hold down Covid nu

This so bogus it makes me want to puke. There are untold number of laws that restrict freedom that people follow every day. Wear your seat belt; no drunk driving; concealed carry; speed limits; stop s

Even with a vaccine people will still get the corona. Eventually we have to decide to stop living in fear and move on.

True, the phased part being the key discussion point.

What is the infection percent needed for herd immunity?

How fast do you want to achieve herd immunity?

Do you sacrifice people's lives to try and achieve it faster?

What if we open the doors early to try and achieve herd immunity faster and 3 months from now there is an effective treatment?

The bottom line on achieving herd immunity is it means most of us need to suffer through the virus. I don't want to get it. If that spoils the plans for herd immunity, sorry.

I don’t want my life sacrificed for a country or for people that have never sacrificed anything for me. If that makes me selfish then so be it. In my eyes that selfishness makes me 100% American.

I'd say 90% likely fall sports will be played by August. 4 months is a while. They are already trying to reopen the economy at this point.

I can see schools opening in the Fall and no sports before next Spring if then, just my thoughts.

If schools open, sports should happen. Less risk in sports than in a school classroom. Whether there will be crowds allowed is the question in my mind in that situation.

Disagree completely with this take. A few fall sports I would agree with you on (golf, cross country, and maybe volleyball) but soccer/football would be ALOT more dangerous conditions than in school for kids. In school admin can try to contain distancing, forget that in contact sports.

Distancing in school? Lol, that’s not going to happen regardless of rules you try to make/enforce. If school is in, sports will take place.

My take is, an education holds more importance than HS sports.

Let's remember, so far the Rona does not appear to be much of a threat to children. Additionally, if you can stuff 20 or 30 students and a teacher in a room together you can play sports. All I am asking for is consistent logic.

Consistent logic is few and far between right now it seems!

I still feel like school will open after Labor Day, with football (and other fall sports) being played but likely a shorter season. I hope I'm wrong.

Face masks will be the new fashion accessory.

That is nothing but a false sense of security.

And an annoyance to wear.

I don’t know how our healthcare workers wear them all day.

Logic means that those 20-30 kids can become infected, live and then spread it to their grandparents and possibly kill them.
