So it's been corroborated that Billy Preston, who signed with KU, was paid by Adidas.

It's been corroborated that Silvio De Sousa, who is currently at KU, was paid by Adidas.

There's wire-tap conversations between a KU assistant and Adidas discussing payment to lead Zion Williamson to KU, and there's text messages between Adidas and Bill Self discussing Deandre Ayton, who the Adidas rep claims he paid money to.

How in the world is the NCAA going to simply turn a blind eye to what's going on in Lawrence?

Hmm. Maybe the same way UNC doesn't even get a slap on the wrist for their academic scandal? :idunno:

While I completely don't agree, I can understand the argument against why they didn't get involved with the UNC scandal. I don't see how they cannot do something to Kansas over all this.

Simple.

If they start looking at who signed with ADIDAS schools, they are going to have to look at who didn't sign there and why.

Zion to Duke, why did he go there? What did they offer? What about AD and the $200k payment......

This investigation is all great to the national media guys who hate Pitino, Louisville, and the other schools named earlier. ITs really going to suck for them when the darlings of basketball like UK, Duke, and Kansas get implicated and exposed.......or will they?

Does it bother anyone else how little coverage this is getting? Bill Self is going to lose his job and no one anywhere is talking about it. Compare this to the Louisville stuff? Do we honestly believe if this was Calipari being accused of all of this under oath that this wouldn’t be front page everywhere? If anyone needs proof that Kansas is the media’s darling, what more do you need?

It's unbelievable isn't it.

I just don’t understand it. I understand it’s not exactly prime college basketball season and it’s right in the heart of college football, but we’re talking about one of the most historic sports programs in the world collaborating with one of the most recognizable brands in the world (Adidas) in what is probably the biggest corruption scandal in the history of amateur athletics. I just don’t get why nobody is talking about it.

The lack of media attention is probably a couple things.

One, there is a LOT of other true sports stuff happening right now - NFL, College football, NBA opening and MLB playoffs.

Two, perhaps the sports networks have become jaded on doing hard news stories after all the heat they get from the public and lost viewers.

Yes because Louisville hasn’t been the most profitable basketball program in the country for several years now... Louisville has just as much money as these programs do.

I’m not buying that they don’t want to run hard news stories. Yeah you may tick off some Kansas fans, but if anything the coverage brings more viewers to the TV screens not less. We have assistants going to jail, executives whistle blowing, and one of the greatest coaches of this generation about to lose his job. I don’t think the media would choose not to cover it simply because they are afraid of backlash.
