Most of that information has been out a while. No doubt it was a professional hit, but not killing the child is a bigger clue than most realize.

While the current 7-8-9th grade classes do not have the kids that have went to Kentucky Middle School All-star games, a ton of camps, or received a truck load of hype, there is 4-5 very good players in each grade. They are also 2 and 3 sport kids who don't have the time to go to a ton of camps. There might be a D1 kid or 2 in that group at something, so they will be just fine. With that said, our 5/6th(1 - 4th grader) grade group, I would put up against anyone in this state.

Chapmanville is talented, with 2 really nice players. PC will have the best player on the floor and I'd be shocked if they are not the better coached team, by a long shot.

Where is it being played this year?

As a Coach, I don't put my 2's and 3's in until the team that is getting beat puts theirs in. When they wave the white flag, we will.

Then don't play or drop out of district. This whole thing of you're 'going to get beat but we will make it look better" is stupid and useless. Completely. Kids practice for weeks to get to play 10 reg. season games in football. Why shorten it for the ones that work in practice because the other team sucks? If you can't compete, drop out or take your butt kicking until you get better.

It is stupid and actually hurts the losing team more. Whose 1's and 2's need the reps more?

Sounds like an assistant coach and some parents were conspiring against a head coach. School administration and BOEs are going to have to get a backbone. We have kids doing drugs, having sex, and doing whatever else(basically being kids), but they cower and hide if a coach says curse words?

KHSAA is just terrible. Honestly that is not a shot at them, it’s just the truth. They serve no purpose.

To mold young men or women(whatever you’re coaching) into leaders and parents of tomorrow. Have a process that teaches them to show up on time and do their job. Have a good process and winning takes care of itself.

Belfry plays to their level of competition but is going to be very dangerous in the 15th. They also played both games without 2 starters due to the flu....didn’t even make trip to Morehead.

Belfry hasn’t because you have to factor in the high probability of them going to the finals in football.

I completely understand and agree with what you are saying. If a kid was a good high school player and is having a ceremony to show he is getting the chance to play at the next level(walk on or scholly) it is ok with me. If the kid played 8 minutes a game in basketball, 1 inning in baseball, or was on kickoff team in football and is signing......well.
