I was, but you are right he is not really a transfers, just coming back home. Lawrence is till more talented IMHO, I'm not sold on them as a team completely though. They showed flashes last year and hopefully they can get to their potential. Everyone will get eligible from SV to PCC, I'd actually be shocked if anyone got ruled ineligible.

They lost A LOT off the team from last year but have 3 transfers now. I don't know if they are better than Lawrence Co.

Was told he was enrolled at Chapmanville and couldn't get eligible because WVSSAC has rules in place to prevent multiple transfers in state.

Will he get eligible? Honest question, isn't it like the 4th school since 8th grade for him?

Pike Central got beat by two teams who should have no chance at beating anyone in the top of 3A. Bell should win, if they do not they have no shot at competing with the likes of Belfry, Boyle, Central, Lex. Cath.

It isn't fault, it is the culture of coaches and schools. No one builds a team from the ground up anymore, no one promotes coaches from middle school up. People hire coaches based on what connections they have, what players they can get, or agendas in the school. I don't think that is the case in Mercer though.

I think some feel I'm defending Coach Matney, and I guess I kinda am. He can coach, look at the two programs he took over before he got there and the one he left. I can also understand why he has a chip on his shoulder......trust me. With that said he has one of the best jobs in EKY, so he should probably tone some of it down, or at least watch what he does/says a little more.....but, and I don't know this for fact, just relating/looking from the outside, I think he feels he will never get the respect he deserves and there is one thing that one always eat at him.

They have, trust me I know their schedule. They also played Southwestern 2 years in a row on the road.

They travel to Gallipolis and Knoxville to do it.

I know how hard of a time Belfry has, I can imagine JC is probably as bad or worse. Coach Matney is either hated or loved.....

I don't know how good some of them are, most are not very good. Richlands looks to be quality.

GW and SV are the only ones I know that will schedule anyone 4A and up. Not easy getting anyone to play from WV when they know they are going to get beat.

No there is not. You have to make money now in high school sports and no one can give up home games like you are asking Coach Matney to do. To be frank, West Virginia teams will not step up to anyone that has any chance to beat them....

You cannot use student generated funds to upgrade/upkeep facilities. So a school cannot use funds generated from games to cover the replacement of turf 10 years down the road. Turf is also playing out to be not as cost effective as was original thought.
