15th - King Kelly Coleman - Wayland Todd Conley - Elkhorn City JJ Hylton - Belfry Todd May - Virgie John Pelphrey - Paintsville JR Vanhoose - Paintsville Elisha Justice - Shelby Valley Can't just pick 5.....

They all work both. Girls has to be called different, if not you are going to be there for 4 hours and every player on the team might foul out.

That kinda goes to the change of pace. Like I said, I've used them all, to play anything takes great man principles. Shelby Valley played man but mostly a 1-2-2 the year they won, I didn't look at it like a gimmick then.....it was a philosophy. Gimmicks are like throwing stuff at the wall and see what sticks....I might have answered wrong based on that. Lol.

Rarely should that happen. I use them, I've used everything you can think of.

You coach gimmicks for one of 3 reasons - 1 - your kids cannot play man/a traditional zone 2 - you do not know how to teach m2m correctly and completely 3 - change of pace/more to scout More coaches fall into 1 and mostly 2, than 3 from my experience. I know one that his base D is a triangle and 2, but you know what else his teams can do, get up in your hind end and play man if he chooses.

Tickets still get bought by schools......you just can't use student generated funds to do it.

I agree, but the game has gotten way to physical. Defenders "ride" players constantly.

MC is #5/6 in the 15th, they are not remotely in the same league as KCC however....

If JC is basing their entire season on beating Belfry, then yes they are "King Of the East." I'd bet money Coach Matney would trade every win over Belfry for one state title at JC. Facts - Belfry football is the most successful athletic program east of Lexington and top 10 in the state(all sports).

I'll be there most of the day.

I'll propose this - All sports drop their regular season 20%. All teams then make the playoffs.

It is crazy the way people think. Instead of raising the bar in football it keeps getting lowered.

The people comparing football and basketball are.....not real smart. The beating a body takes in football is no where compared to what it takes in basketball. You are putting kids out there who do not want to be there and in some instances they have 0 chance at being competitive...0.

Out of that 20, 10 are solid members who take facts into consideration and push politics aside, 5 I really do not know, and 5 are totally political hacks.

So then you are punishing the adults and kids who didn't cheat by cutting there season short because they got beat by the cheaters.

Life is cold, hard, and ugly. Don't break the rules.

Good. Kids getting punished sucks, but you know what, something needs to be done.

What is competitive? How many teams get up 21 or 28 to 0' then the final score ends up being closer? I'll back mine up tomorrow. I'll say this, winning a region title in basketball is getting closer and closer to being on par with winning a state title in football......32 team vs 16 teams.......

3/2 upset happens a lot in basketball, 4/1 happens way mor in basketball than football.

There are more than a few games that are a safety concern. People will not throw their programs under the bus or do not have any supporters on here.

As of right now, we are not sure, as only 12 attended practice yesterday. We will not know until it is time to pull out and make the trip.

No they don't want to play one more game, it will take a monumental effort to even have enough to make the trip to Raceland.

This used to be a rule in West Virginia, but they dropped it about 2000. Impossible to enforce with small schools and will cripple them for freshman and JV.

I really hope that Belfry or Johnson Central work this out.

You have to pay bills, and you need to avg. 5 home games a year.
