That pathetic Red Grange offense does just fine across the country. It did just fine last year through their playoff run that ended on a last ditch pass into the end zone with no time remaining. What offense do you believe gives them a chance to beat those teams?

That terrible offense only worked because of the players they had. likely could have gone further last year with a better offense. Way too much time spent behind the line of scrimmage trying to fool the defense. One on one coverage on outside (if you can call a five yard split outside) should be able to bear some fruit. Catch the snap and toss either a quick hitch or throw it up to their big receiver and let him go get it depending of coverage might open up some running room. Every play Scott is 10 vs 11 inside the hash marks with current alignment.

Agreed....last year they had several skilled players to make this offense work in spite of itself. There is no way you can win on a year in year out basis with this offense. These coaches need to go to some offensive coaching clinics and implement somethings new. Again, good luck to Nelson. 11 on 1 cannot be much fun every Friday night.

If it's truly 11-1, what offense do you propose they run?? The spread?? Gotta have skilled players to run that too. Again, teams all over the country win with that offense. Scott ran a spread not too long ago. And everybody ripped on them for running it then.

Try the veer/triple option. Nelson Perrin at QB, Thurza and David Patrick as split backfield, Austin Price or Quincy Perrin as slot receiver or wide out and Ryan Muck as other wide out (or some variation of these players). More space to work, quick passes. For the line the blocking schemes are relatively simple regarding responsibilities. I Would have run this last year so all skill players would have been on the field at the same time rather than subbing for one another.

I'm looking forward to seeing if Dixie can continue to put up points on the board, as they did against Beechwood ( 30 in 2 qrtrs ).

Perrin is a heckuva player...looking forward to seeing him in action! And looking forward to seeing how Torres, Barker, Hicks, and Barrett do against the Eagle defense!

If the Scott line can't protect Perrin Scott is in for a blowout. I was present at the NCC game and I don't recall any passing plays that went over ten yards. This game will be about which team has a better run defense if we're being honest. Close call.

Some of the stuff here makes me scratch my head. This is why people leave coaching because of some of the thinking in this thread.

Unless you are running your QB or he is reading on every play then the offense is playing 10 vs 11. Some might argue that all offenses are 10 vs 11 due the the offense having the ball carrier.

The whole spread it out way of thinking. When you expand your formation by detacthing WRs you compress the defense. Homer Smith has written a ton about it but it's pretty simple in that you are removing run gaps.

The idea that they should of went to or gone to the option. Teaching option football is one of the hardest offenses to teach. The OL play isn't as simple as some make it out to be. Now you can simplify it a little but you end up not having the answers you need on offense.

Who is going to coach all of this? Coaching is like any other profession. Some people put in the work their job is extremely important. Option is like the spread. People want their teams to spread out or throw the ball. They don't understand all the little details that go into it. If you are going to go spread you better have at least three legit guys. I mean truly legit coaches. You need a QB, OL and WR coach. It works better if you have two WR coaches. If you don't have all three then it more than likely will be rough. Teaching option football isn't too far off.

I like the idea of going to some clinics and implement some new things. Now if one is talking about wrinkles or a few things that is one thing. Honestly coaches don't go to the clinics for that. If they want that type of stuff they make phone calls and visit places. There are so many teams that their coaches went to a clinic saw something and jumped on it. Past reading An Order of Football you are going to buy a book or go to a clinic and be able to run an offense or defense. It takes a ton of time talking with people and working out details. Then you learn as much if not more from running its sticking with it. Btw their offense is Tim Murphy's shotgun double wing. That's who they learned it from.
