I don't completly disagree with you but do feel it is an offense that can be implemented for this program. We ran the veer in high school and were very successful as a smaller school in our district. part of the reason we ran it was because of our lack of skill players and depth. Many colleges that were in big conferences but didnt get the big recruits ran it for years and were able to be competitive that way.

 

We had a total of 3 coaches on our entire staff that taught us how to run it. A line coach, a QB and backs coach and a receiver coach. Making the right read was the hardest part. I think they even talk about the veer in the movie about Marshall when they rebuilt the program in the 70's.

Dixie's gonna be awful motivated to win for their fallen brother this weekend. That, combined with the coach quitting/one sided loss to NCC points to a decisive Dixie win.

Wasn't there a Matchlitt on Dixie's coaching staff(freshman?) a year or so ago? Could be the boy's father.

My understanding is that his Dad, Dave, is the Dixie freshman football coach. Good guy too from what I hear.
