  1. That is correct. My understanding is that they may share duties but so far only Muck has kicked in the one game and the scrimmage. Both looked like they kick well at least when they were warming up during halftime.
  2. Scott continues to run a terrible offense. Agree they have some nice looking players. Hoping they regroup and have a great season. Looked like they had more players on the sideline than in recent years. Good outlook for the program moving forward
  3. Logan Muck from the soccer team is the Newcath kicker
  4. Collegiate is very good. Quite a few club players, sound defensively, play solid possession side to side through the midfield and two fast strikers. At least that was my opinion in the two matches I saw them play.
  5. Unfortunately NCC didn't play to win but rather not to lose. Once down 1-0 that strategy goes out the window. Didn't look like they made any adjustments to make a legit effort to win even when down 2-0. I think NCC was a tougher out than twss is giving credit. 2-0 isn't a blowout but true NCC didn't make much of a threat to score primarily due to strategy.
  6. Apparently the "defensive" strategy didn't work...10-0...
  7. Both kids who have taken all the starting snaps are out. Season starter N Perrin is out as is his replacement R Muck. Both will hopefully be back after next weeks bye. Perrin is actually better suited as a RB so we will see what they decide to do after the bye week.
  8. Not sure who will be taking the snaps for Scott. N Perrin and Muck are both out. Running game improved a bit last week so if they can eliminate turnovers and continue the improved ground attack they should prevail by an eyelash.
  9. They were very good in all positions. They had two strikers that were very fast and had a very soft first touch. I hear they have several players who either ar or have been in a DA program and several others who play on a high level club team. Passing was crisp, quick and one touch. Kept NCC chasing throughout the match. It was 7-0 at the half. Collegiate never took their foot off the gas and most starters played the majority of the second half as well. NCC made a few adjustments at half that obviously helped minimize the final outcome deficiency but overall they were clearly over matched. Congrats to NCC for advancing that far!
  10. I have attended several matches and he has gotten a few as well as not. From what I have seen he is a very intense player who gets the attention of officials fairly quickly. It has also appeared that he has a tendency to not hold his tongue that has also resulted in a card or two. Hopefully for his sake that issue goes away with maturity. I have also had opportunities to see his club team and he and his teammates do continue play after a booking. Last nights match was not so physical it warranted such heavy control IMO. Thanks for the friendly warning and the reminder
  11. You are wise beyond your years YC. It is my understanding that Muck was held out for that precise reason. Unfortunately the crew last night has always had a heightened awareness of him and an extremely short leash. Not sure he has ever played a match that I have witnessed where he has not received a card for physical play. The foul last night was certainly not card worthy with both boys simply challenging for the ball. If the center thought it card worthy then could have gone either way. I really only thought 2 cards were warranted during the match certainly not 5.
  12. You are correct there are 3. The one I failed to mention is pretty decent. Needs to get off this crew.
  13. The two worst officilas doing the game. Steelers.... I mean birds 2-0.
  14. Confused why Henry is at #4. NCC defeated them and Cooper defeated NCC and had a draw against them if I am not mistaken.
  15. My understanding is that Perrin injured his left hand or wrist that required a procedure keeping him out a few weeks. They have a freshman qb also hurt so their only real receiver (#2) has taken over. Believe he is a senior
  16. Correct. In fact the young man had never played qb before and was asked Wednesday if he would take over from what I was told. Two days of practice was all he had to prepare. My understanding is that he (or someone) will have to hold down the fort for the next few weeks.
  17. Good discussion everyone I have enjoyed it. If you have a kid at sk via open enrollment that hasn't seen the field I wish you had opted to go to Scott. They could use just a few more good players to be competitive like last year. Good luck with the remainder of your season!
  18. Maybe the kid moved from SK to Scott district So he went to assigned school.
  19. You have to admit that the majority of time it is one sided. As mentioned previously I know at least 4 kids in my own neighborhood who live in the Scott district that are at SK. Scott has about 25 total players so clearly 4 marginal 6a but solid 4a players would make a huge difference. Happy my kid chose to have an opportunity to play rather than be a sideline bystander when he was there. Kids are missing their only chance to play school ball. Not blaming SK. Not their fault kids opt to go there. Scott needs to somehow change their image despite being a good school with outstanding facilities.
  20. They didn't transfer from Scott. In 8th grade they have the option to opt for open enrollment at a school outside their assigned district school. They live in Scott's district but apply to go to sk or even Dixie (but more often sk). They are accepted at that point to begin freshman year as an open enrollment student.
  21. Open enrollment absolutely hurts Scott. I personally know 4 players in my own neighborhood that are borderline players at sk that rarely see the field that are good enough to start at Scott and be solid contributors. They opt for open enrollment rather than attending Scott. Kids right now are opting to stand on the sidelines for 4 years hoping for a state championship. The irony is if a few of them attended Scott each year the would get to actually play AND get a chance for a ring. Until this stigma goes away it is likely to be this way. About the game: Scott's best offensive and defensive player was out with injury. They started a qb that has never played the position before and had 2 days of practice to learn a few plays. A majority of the team consists of sophomores and juniors. All things considered I felt they never quit and continued to battle despite the result. Conner is a solid team but this game is no measuring stick.
  22. What does any of this have to do with the official doing both the NCC game and this one? If you are referring to him awarding a pk to NCC late in that game being similar to what happend last night then I would be inclined to agree with his call last night. He got it correct in the NCC game so events of last night must be more in line with the description provided by yellow card.
  23. Couldn't agree with you more. Sad thing is that there are players now that opt for open enrollment a few miles to the south that spend 4 years holding their helmets on the sideline that would start and likely even play both ways if they attended Scott. With as few as 10 players each year making the switch they would consistently be a 4a powerhouse. Unfortunately with open enrollment unless something radical happens this will be the trend. Scott gets a bad rap
