  1. Interesting perspective. I actually thought NCC controlled the 1st quarter but lost some energy in the 2nd where I thought Henry took over possession and contolled until the final 10 mins. I heard one of the Henry players make a comment on a throw in to slow down and take some time before putting it in play. I commented to a buddy of mine that it seemed premature to slow down their aggressiveness. Heat may have had something to do with it as well.
  2. 3-2 pk's. NCC makes went to Barth, Randall and Muck. Grosser NCC keeper had two saves and one St. Henry shot sailed wide right.
  3. First real test for NCC so we should have a better gage as to where this NCC squad really ranks. I like the Muck n Schultz combo but need at least one more offensive threat. Defense should remain solid.
  4. Good to hear he is back on the pitch and from the sounds of it back to good health
  5. Schultz also assisted on the other two goals I believe. Played a nice game. Defense made nice adjustments after giving up first goal. Moses for Beechwood very quick and their other striker (#17) also has good speed. Rust had a very good game at outside back
  6. Muck and Eddie Schultz have done all the scoring through the first 3 games. Keeper in this match did a nice job defending a few chances. Muck has 2 in each of the first three games and Schultz has scored or assisted the others.
  7. Has to be a prediction. The match is scheduled for tonight I believe.
  8. I don't completly disagree with you but do feel it is an offense that can be implemented for this program. We ran the veer in high school and were very successful as a smaller school in our district. part of the reason we ran it was because of our lack of skill players and depth. Many colleges that were in big conferences but didnt get the big recruits ran it for years and were able to be competitive that way. We had a total of 3 coaches on our entire staff that taught us how to run it. A line coach, a QB and backs coach and a receiver coach. Making the right read was the hardest part. I think they even talk about the veer in the movie about Marshall when they rebuilt the program in the 70's.
  9. Defense. I Agree AreLinz except what kind of message does this send to the boys? Arguement was petty from what I hear. Sit, talk it out and move on like men then if at season end still unhappy move on.
  10. I heard that he did quit but actually happend after the NCC game. Pretty poor role model if you ask me. These kids were counting on him and now due to a disagreement with the head coach he bailed. Suck it up and resign the right way at the conclusion of the season.
  11. Try the veer/triple option. Nelson Perrin at QB, Thurza and David Patrick as split backfield, Austin Price or Quincy Perrin as slot receiver or wide out and Ryan Muck as other wide out (or some variation of these players). More space to work, quick passes. For the line the blocking schemes are relatively simple regarding responsibilities. I Would have run this last year so all skill players would have been on the field at the same time rather than subbing for one another.
  12. That terrible offense only worked because of the players they had. likely could have gone further last year with a better offense. Way too much time spent behind the line of scrimmage trying to fool the defense. One on one coverage on outside (if you can call a five yard split outside) should be able to bear some fruit. Catch the snap and toss either a quick hitch or throw it up to their big receiver and let him go get it depending of coverage might open up some running room. Every play Scott is 10 vs 11 inside the hash marks with current alignment.
  13. Newcath controlled the majority of the possession. Unfortunately they could not find the back of the net in the first half otherwise could easily have been a higher score differential. Goals by Schultz, Grothaus and Muck. Passing looked much quicker and with purpose. Defense was solid throughout the match for NCC. E Jessamine really only had one decent scoring chance easily collected by the NCC keeper.
  14. Highly doubtful. The offense last year wasn't much better but there was a slight upgrade on the offensive line and more weapons that made it work. The program looked to be on the upswing last year but running this type of 50's offense will not help get district kids interested in playing here. If there remains the option of playing QB or a reciever elsewhere they will most certainly opt for one of the Eagles competitors. As long as the district remains open this will likely be the norm. I hope that I am wrong and the Eagles are able to continue to build on last years success. Good kids and facilities that get a bad rap.
  15. I think Scott had a few breakdowns on defense that can be corrected. It was a few big plays that hurt them. Offensively it is a disaster. They line everyone inside the hash marks allowing the D to do the same. Perrin is stuck running for his life and little room to run. They attempted 3 passes off play action of which two were intercepted. One on one coverage on "outside" quick pass to their big target might loosen things up a bit and give the qb some confidence. Maybe try spreading the field a bit for running lanes. NC by 14
  16. Muck had two of Scott's touchdowns via the pass. Had he timed his jump a little better he would have scored 3. Also a rare drop on a wide open toss that easily would have gone for 20+ yards. Combined with Perrin's catches it was a productive passing attack.
  17. Scott is not playing starters much past the first quarter from what I have heard. They have very little depth. SK likes to roll with starters until about a minute left even if up by 36 or more and they have a ton of players who dress. SK probably wins by around 21. Scott has nothing to prove in this one and cannot risk injury in a meaningless game. Hopefully they stay focused on the upcoming games despite the outcome of this one.
  18. Its not a secret and wasnt stated as a disparaging comment.
  19. H I agree 100% that a harder schedule is beneficial. Unfortunately they failed to contact me when creating this years matchups. My point was that even with this schedule I did not expect these results. I was anticipating a record closer to 7-7. The boys have given good effort to get where they are.
  20. Hey soft schedule but only cov cath ahead of us right now. Sitting at 9 wins 2 draw and 3 losses.
  21. Yes, I was actually avoiding BGP for a while because it was no longer worth getting in conversations about the program. Randle is out with injury and I do not know when he will return, Grosser was involved in a collision last evening, Liles is out for academics reasons and will return soon hopefully, chad brewer had staples put in a head injury but has played on but cannot head the ball. Despite the injuries and other issues it has actually been an ok last few weeks. Ties against Conner, Brossart, wins against highlands and boone with a bad loss to north hardin mixed in. Overall considering the injuries and the fact that this is a pretty average NCC team, I will take it.
