  1. The question here is very obvious...what would Lynn Ray do? :-)
  2. Did anyone say anything to this clown(s)? Surprised to see that from Spartan parents. Won't be long until there's a full blown riot/police scene out there considering some of the stuff that's happened out there in recent years. Usually the same players involved however. Sad.
  3. Beechwood scores to up the lead to 23-7 with 7:16 to go in the game. James Davis with the score I believe (just walked in).
  4. I'll go ahead and second this. I mean no matter what name you go under, the results are the same. Look, it's ridiculous ... Have you scoped the linemen in the midget division? Can you tell me the starting 11 of every team and rank them? Of course not, no one can or should. I have seen your two VERY good backs, and they are definitely top players. However, in the odd discussion of the BEST two, I'd imagine some folks in Campbell County, Ft. Mitchell, Covington and Ludlow would have a dog in this fight. And, seriously, again, who has time to see every team?!?!
  5. 2 OF THE best players in the midget division ... that's what you meant right?
  6. Also...congrats Coach Lickert and Camels! Completely agree, PROGRAM. DEFINING. WIN. Well done, boys.
  7. Great game Tigers! Impressive performance by a young but talented BW squad.
  8. Yeah would love to hear details on this one. Was surprised no one jumped on this ASAP.
  9. My understanding is that his Dad, Dave, is the Dixie freshman football coach. Good guy too from what I hear.
  10. Dixie's gonna be awful motivated to win for their fallen brother this weekend. That, combined with the coach quitting/one sided loss to NCC points to a decisive Dixie win. Dixie 27, Scott 7
  11. Beyond tragic and remarkably unfair to the Machlitt family and all of those that loved this young man so deeply. Lots and lots of sad folks in Spartans, Dixie and Georgetown communities today as well. Colson clearly made one hell of an impression on those groups over the years. Now, I'm going to go hug my 11 year old and pray that I can do the best I can to help him make good decisions and, see MTSG's post above, help him avoid the wrong side of life's random roll of the dice. Many prayers from Ft. Mitchell
  12. South Kenton AND Erlanger Lions, Spartans and Taylor Mill Eagles.
  13. What a joke. Nothing like lopping off your best/most dedicated employees!
  14. Double confirmation...sad for CovCath. Zeus is a good man. He'll be sorely missed. What a wonderful pickup by Seton. Zeus is exactly what I wanted to be when I left and loved CovCath in 93.
  15. Wow. If true, that's a huge loss for the CovCath community. I had him earmarked in a decade or so for the fourth spot on the Colonel Mount Rushmore next to Coach Ray, Krumps, and Larry Lloyd. But seriously ... can anyone confirm?
  16. Just saw Jefferson walking down Beechwood Road!!! OMG!!! Should I get pictures? Demand answers? Periscope an interview?!?
  17. So, I was a starter on that 1992 CovCath team and, to be honest, there's not a week that goes by that I don't think about that game and just how deeply devastating that loss was for all of us...players, coaches, support staff, families, fans, etc. Just thinking on it as I write this post, it hurts. The field was just an absolute quagmire after a heavy rain the night before. My recollection is that the Birds scored on maybe the first drive of the game -- a ground and pound time consuming drive. I recall just how well John Schlarman and I wanna say Drew Meyers (center)? and the right guard (Arnsberg...can't recall) played on that drive. Then I think they scored on a fluke punt return (Brady Grimm?) right up the gut on us. We were shocked. Our offense was led by McCormack, but really, the key to our success was a gigantic, powerful offensive line. We just steamrolled people...but not that day. On a dry field, I don't think they would have ever beaten us. We were more athletic, more offensively dynamic. The stars just aligned, the right amount of rain fell and their offense really did push us around that day. I also recall just how devastating it was for Lynn Ray. He was very quite and very in the shadows for weeks after that. Some of our guys that could have gotten scholarships if they had been seen on a larger stage..didn't. Some coaches ended up leaving afterwards...and I think a lot of it based on the aftermath of the loss. If anyone has pictures or game film of this game, I'd really appreciate it and I know a lot of us that were on the field that day would also. Sigh
  18. Sorry for the sudden end to the updates! Both my phone and my gf's phone died on me. Very impressive effort by Doty/Raisor/Birds tonight. Wish nothing but the best for the boys in their quest for a state title. Heartbreaking way to end the year for those Beechwood kids. What impressive young men and careers they put together during their time with the Tigers. And...MAKE SURE YOU RETURN THE FOUL BALLS TO THE FIELD!
