Wireman
It would've been half the distance to the goal. I'm guessing it would've been from the previous spot. Automatic first down. However ESPN officiating expert Gerry Austin said after the game confirming with NFL VP of Officiating Dean Blandino, that Wright should’ve been flagged. The Lions would’ve kept the ball with possession inside the one. The penalty is a "live ball" penalty and is a 10 yard variety. Live ball penalties (such as defensive holding) go back to the previous spot for enforcement. Either way, it was a blown call and Detroit was robbed of an opportunity

Clyde
My guess is the Back Judge loses a game.
hoops_fan
All turnovers are reviewed by the booth. Because it was a circumstance of a penalty, does that make it not reviewable?

UKMustangFan
Penalties cannot be reviewed. Not entirely true. You can review the 12 man on the field call. You can also review a PI call if you believe the ball was tipped.

Clyde
My guess is a lot of coaches do not know the rule. Pete Carroll said he didn't know it. However, a Pats player tweeted that they actually have practiced that play and gone over the rule.
Habib
I had no clue that was the rule. Thought it was a smart play by Chancellor until I saw this thread.
mcpapa
The call gave somebody playing weekly fantasy something like a $1.1 million payday. They had the Seattle defense and said defense was credited with a fumble recovery.
