Clyde
We always hear studies about how the average game used to be ...... vs what it is today. I'd be curious to see how many more minutes per game there are now for commercials. The game can only be sped up so much and not really much to make any difference. I think that is a part of the problem, along with theatrics in the box and on the mound.
tcjkbt
The 2-batter minimum is intriguing.
LOOGY
When I was watching MLB network a few weeks ago Verducci said something I never thought of. The 40 man roster seems to be a huge issue in terms of game time. When you have 20 pitchers on staff, coaches use them more frequently during the games. His idea was before every game in September you designate 25 guys per fam who can play in that game. Not only will it speed up the game in terms of pitching changes, it will also balance out things competitively. ehy would a team like the Mets be able to bring in 8 lefty specialists a game against a contending team full of guys who struggle to hit leftys? Where earlier in the season they didn't have to face as many leftys.
NEERFAN
I do like the changes but MLB I is foolish to think this will make the game more appealing.
OlDog75
Just two minutes of graphics cut a minute out of each half inning... got to pay the bills IMO, that's what between innings and pitching changes is for. Man, I just don't want any more crap popping up and/or scrolling on my screen during a telecast. I feel sometimes my large screen TV has been drastically reduced. NKYknowitall
The changes are stupid, and IF you couldn't watch baseball before because "it was too long" then you don't respect the game and are not a real fan. That's my opinion.
