Clyde
It plays a part. While other programs practice outside in the heat of the summer, the cold of November and in the rain, Highlands are practicing well indoor, hence better day of practice. So to me that's an advance. Just my opinion. I think the point many will make from Ft Thomas is they've done exactly what you said above for YEARS and YEARS and won a lot of state championships. So will it help? Maybe. Is it necessary? No.

Just my opinion. Highlands fans just opened the facility. They are just saying they were good without it and well, going forward we'll see. They definitely produced some good teams under paltry facilities prior.

NKYFBFAN
Has to be one of the top HS training facilities in the country. Better than 90% of colleges I would say as well.
BeechBerg31
Coming from a meathead, especially a meathead from beechwood... I've got to say I'm pretty envious of that setup! Looks great compared to before!

NKYFBFAN
Huh? Which facility are you talking about? The indoor field house. The one this thread is about?
KingOfClutch33
Not to thread jack but when will Boone County catch on? Every other district and private school in the area is getting it and Boone County still apparently budgets money like my son!
Henry521
I have not read through all the threads and maybe somewhere it was answered, but could someone from Highlands that is "in the know" tell me the company that is putting in the new field. Thank you in advance.

Henry521
Motz ??? Are you answering my question about the field or are you responding to someone else? Also, is the company that is doing Highlands field the same as the one replacing Newports field?
Henry521
Allow me to rephrase my question: what brand of artificial turf is being installed? Is it FieldTurf or someother brand? The prior brand was FieldTurf and I'm curious to know if they are going with it or some other brand.
tdyballgame
Motz is the contractor doing the install. As far as manufacturer of turf, the only info on here is from Sweeperboy. He said its some type of high intensity "fast" turf. Not sure on brand though. Maybe a quick text to cousin B will get you the answer. While you are at it, ask him why they changed the font of the H and Highlands in the endzones!
stinkyboy II
HHS turf is Twenty-Four/Seven slit film being installed by Motz. Motz Corporation website has info available about the product.
