On the whole, ten wins and a district title were a step forward in Craig Yeast's second season. Lou. Central delivered a sobering reminder of just how far they have to go with a running clock defeat in the playoffs. ATH Ashton Drakeford (FBS offer from Akron) should be a centerpiece of the offense, and is also one of several starters back on defense, which also includes the top three tacklers.

Cory Ford best back out of Mercer County(maybe he could of been considered Harrodsburg)...I think he was the one I'm thinking of. They had a nasty 3 headed monster in 2007-2008. Pretty sure all 3 went for well over 1k+ yards. One was Cory Ford, one kid they called Sunshine was much bigger than the other 2 (I think he went to Georgetown, Ky for college) can't remember the 3rd kids name which makes me disappointed in myself because he could have been the better of the 3 but he could flat out fly and was a dawg also. Anyone who remembers that team could you clear up my memory for me? Pretty funny looking back now to think about what that team did and they probably passed the ball 2 times a game.

You're thinking of the 2006 team that won 2A after absorbing Harrodsburg. Brandon Ford ran for 2,000 yards and Corey Jackson wasn't far behind with 1,800 or 1,900. Their per carry averages were crazy. Mercer wrecked everybody on the way to the finals before getting a stiff challenge from defending champion Russell.

There we go! I mixed their names together lol. There was a third running back that they also had and he was a monster but didn't quite get the touches but had like 100 yds a game. Any clue what his name was? Almost positive he was an original Mercer County boy. Them 2 dudes Jackson and Ford could leave anybody in the dust though. I think them 2 won some type of state title that year in track as well. They were dope.

Excited about Coach Sutton joining the staff! Did a lot of good stuff at Lindsey Wilson College. It will be interesting to see if he changes up the defense a lot or if they keep it similar to what they have been in the last couple of years!

Your the man! Yes that was him. He was a stud also. Totally different back then Jackson and Ford but gave them that extra dimension they needed because Jackson and Ford were so alike. Thanks for everyone correctly clearing up my memory. Them were some bad dudes.

Anyone at the Mercer/Somerset scrimmage tonight?

I watched the film.  I think both teams varsity scored twice.  One of Mercer's scores came from a snap over the punters head.  Somerset seemed to move the ball a little better but both defenses outplayed the other teams offense.
