December 28, 201411 yr I still hate Chris Jones. Just got finished watching the game & his play stuck out to me more than anything. He is terrible. If he was as good as he thought he was... Defensively, both teams were really strong. Offensively, not so much. It was an intense game, but not a well-played game. Really liked what I saw out of UK's frosh today. Kids played really, really well.
December 28, 201411 yr Lyles is stepping into that Poythress...role. Making good, timely plays. I thought he was outstanding today. Lyles is ten times the offensive player Poythress has ever thought about being. No contest. Now defensively and rebounding, Poythress is/was better, but Lyles is getting there.

Kids played really, really well. Here is where I'm torn. I believe in letting teams play but when you do sometimes you get a game like this one. It was particularly physical with a lot of contact being allowed. The other option is, calling everything like the early part of last year and I hated that.

Lyles impressed me today with his rebounding and toughness. Poythress was great for making a play that left you awe struck but Lyles is much more polished.

And on this team they need the offense more than the D. That's why I wasn't worried much when Poythress went down.

December 28, 201411 yr I agree with others here that Ulis is the point guard for this team. I too would love to see him get more pt.
December 28, 201411 yr Andrew and Aaorn are better than they showed in this game, and they did play some pretty dang good defense too. I think it was just an off game. The starting lineup UK trots out everyday isn't broke so no need to fix it at all.

Many of the misses were not bad shots - they were open. But they were quick shots early in the shot clock. Maybe the strategy was - if you are open take it - knowing that UK's defense is so smothering. 1 assist and very low shooting percentage - interesting combination.
December 28, 201411 yr Great win against one of the top teams in the country. I usually Dont like to complain however I was disappointed in Andrews attitude on the bench than his play. At the end of the game the last few minutes he was in the bench and not playing and he just sat there leaning back in his chair the whole time. When others got up when something good happened he just sat. Even in his brothers three at the end to seal it everyone jumped up and he still sat there in his chair leaning back. So I know he was frustrated about his play and not being out there for the end of the game. I have not been one to complain about their attitudes last year or this year. However this was the first time I was very disappointed by his actions.
