December 29, 201411 yr Read his post again. Towns and Willie aren't twins... :thumb: Actually when I said "they do look alike" I was joking about Cal getting the twins mixed up. I just mentioned the Willie and Towns incident because I thought it was ironic that Cal did the same thing earlier with them. Honestly I don't think Willie and Towns look alike at all.

December 29, 201411 yr Different era, different circumstances. In this era if a team goes to multiple final fours in a row it is a dynasty in my opinion. I'll say that over the past 3 years UofL has had a mini dynasty themselves, it's certainly one of, if not the best, 3 years in their program history. Lets face it folks. The bluegrass state has been blessed the last several years with great basketball via both schools. We have 2 of the better coaches in the country who are driven to be the best. What these guys have done at these schools is crazy good. Cal was the right guy at the right time as was Pitino in the 90's. I certainly pull for UK without doubt, but I will never forget what Pitino did in his time at UK. You can make the argument that one is better or whatever. All I know is that both were terrific at UK.

Has there ever been another case where a guy went from hero to villain like he has?

December 29, 201411 yr In the huddle during a stop in play you could see Cal yelling at "Towns" for not calling timeout, that's what makes me think it was possibly Cal giving Towns a learning experience. Ultimately Cal was attempting to call timeout, as was Booker, the refs just happened to miss that. Whether my theory is right or wrong, it worked out as a learning experience for Towns either way. I imagine if he's ever in the same situation again, he calls timeout instead of a baseball pass. Towns had the ball 3-4 seconds tops. It had to take a second or two for Cal to see that he was in trouble. Now way that in one or two seconds did he say: You know what, this is a learning experience for Towns. Let's see if he knows to call timeout here. I'll wait.......Looks like he isn't going to. I better call one myself. More likely by the time he realized that Towns was in trouble and that he hadn't called timeout himself he immediately tried to get the official's attention but it was too late. Still on Towns but I don't think there is any logical way that he had time to analyze the situation and opt to treat it as a learning experience.

That may be true, however some posts are putting the blame on Cal. The truth is, Cal and Booker both attempted to call timeout, however the refs apparently didn't see that. At the stoppage of play, you could see Cal yelling at Towns telling him to call timeout. Whether I'm right or you are right, the moral of the story is that Towns should now know to call timeout in that situation.
