Isn't there a Kaiser kid at St. Paul that is really good in that 6th grade class? I assume he is related to the St. Henry volleyball coach? I know nothing about their team, but I've heard that kid is really good.

 

Yes he is pretty good. He plays AAU for the Ky Force who are mostly kids from IHM & St.Paul.

At Lloyd today in 6th grade action Woodland beat Tichenor pretty bad. In the other game I saw Beechwood beat Summit View by 6 or so. Beechwood didn't play very well at all.

Highlands boys 8th got their Camel Classic schedule and they start their year off with Campbell Co, Twenhofel and Gray. There are no cupcakes on the Birds schedule this year.

Conner 8th wins both games at the Erlanger Classic today, defeated Newport and Ockerman.

 

Saw a very entertaining game RA Jones vs Twenhofel. RA Jones wins in Double overtime sudden death. I don't know who the coach is for RA Jones but he did a great job. His team ran very good plays and made the game very simple.

 

Also saw Turkeyfoot vs Holmes...looks like Holmes will be playing big and fast this year.

8th grade Twenhofel lost to IHM in double overtime sudden death also. Losing 2 games in a row like that....what are the chances?

Saw Ty Houston (Woodland 8th grade) play yesterday at Sports of All Sorts. Very, very strong and improved quickness getting off the floor. At about 6'1" or so, I'd put him as the top "5" in northern Kentucky (slightly ahead of Rankin or Bramwell, Coldiron, Thelen, Starkey). Haven't seen Holmes play yet, but I'd be curious to hear who their bigs are.

Sounds like a hallow tourney to me. Kenton County schools (and I believe Boone County schools also) have a policy in place that prohibits games being played on Sundays. So, there are potentially teams that will play all their games on Saturday and, if they advance, they will not be allowed to play on Sunday.... and/or there are teams not playing in this tourney because their BOE has this silly policy in place.

Kenton County Schools do allow events to take place on Sundays. It does require special permission, and you need to have a good reason, but it can be done. There are restrictions to the times (can't start until a certain hour).
