Conner 6th wins 40 to 10 vs Twenhofel 6th...we should see a good game Thursday as the Bluebirds pay a visit to Hebron! Conner 7th wins by 20+ also, they should have another solid year. 8th grade lost...they have a couple of players out due to injury but played well.

I think HMS will win the 6th grade game pretty handily. HMS is basically the Gametime AAU team minus two kids. Gametime is the best AAU team in NKy let alone school team.

Conner is good but not on the Birds level imo. I think there are only 2 teams that would give HMS a game and that is IHM and Beechwood. Too bad the middle school league stuck Beechwood in the lower division. Makes zero sense!!!

They kicked off their league openers playing each other. Bellevue won the 6th and 8th grade games with Dayton winning the 7th grade game.

Woodland is good but not very deep. They have 2 of the best guards in NKy in Niece and Profitt.

Highlands 8th grade Boys just lost to Gray Middle by 4 pts in the final seconds of the game on The Road. Highlands led 17-13 after 1st, 28-21 at half, 34-26 after 3rd and lost 44-40. Tough loss but kudos to Gray for clawing back at home.

 

Gray Actually was leading after 1st 17-13 the next 2 Periods were all Highlands but the Gators finished strong, Great Game!

Thanks for the clarification, I was getting text's from the wife.

 

Several people I spoke to said the officiating was some of the worst they have ever seen. My stepson came home with a severe scrape across his face that he endured securing a loose ball. Apparently the other team can call a timeout even when you have possession and get your face raked because he said there was no call and Gray got a TO. LOL

 

Apparently taunting is also not called at the middle school level either.....Macke was flattened by Bromwell who proceeded to stand over him and glare. Nothing was even said to the kid, way to go officials.

 

On a side note, I heard the student section for Gray was outstanding. The place was rocking according to my wife. That is an awesome atmosphere.
