Will Rolf for Beechwood is a player! Watched him play yesterday vs. Bracken County. Very calm and composed.

Heard earlier today that Holmes 8th beat Gray 8th on Saturday, with Holmes guard (Lane, I presume) hitting some very deep 3's to lead the Bulldogs. Gray may still 3-peat, but after seeing them struggle with Campbell County and Woodland last week, then having to rally from a 10 point deficit to beat Highlands on Tuesday, it looks like things are tightening up at the top in the 8th grade... I would also throw IHM in as a team that could play with anyone in the region....

What was the score in the Beechwood/Bracken County game? I expect Beechwood to have a lot of pretty lopsided wins playing in the small school division of the NKMSAA... I think that if they played all of their 8th graders on the 8th grade team, they have the talent (particularly if Schilling returns) to play with anyone in either division...

Why is Schilling out? Winter golf tour? Lol Kid is a great golfer I understand.

See therein lies part of the issue. A good official should be able to ignore that part of the crowd banter during the game. Most MS offcials (at least in Basketball) can not, which creates many of the issues.

Why should the officials be expected to ignore unacceptable behavior? Eject one or two of them from the gym and the rest will refrain from getting ignorant for fear of being ejected from their child's game and the game will be more enjoyable for the reasonable people. Unfortunately, not enough middle school officials have the courage to do it.

Where in the rule book does is say its unacceptable for parents in the stands to yell "Foul, Travel, Walk"?.

Depends on how aggressively they yell it, how often and what your definition of unacceptable behavior is. I do not think the rule book addresses fan behavior; it is up to the discretion of the officials and/or game management when to put someone out. If they would do it more often, fan behavior would improve.

Bellevue 6th grade sits at 2-1 in league play, 7th grade is 0-3, and 8th grade is 2-1. Play at RA Jones tomorrow. Just curious why RA Jones is in the small school division? I assume RA Jones will win all three tomorrow night

Their 6th grade is not very good. They have a point guard that is decent other than that not much..

Tomorrow night HMS plays IHM. Those should be really good games in the 7th and 8th grade. Don't know much about their 6th grade team.

But first tonight the Grant Co Braves come to Ft. Thomas for a Tripleheader.

I also think Holmes was missing recent transfer Rakwon Williams as he was playing in an All Star Football event down in Tennessee with a group of other kids from NKY.

IHM is one of the top 3 teams in 6th grade. They have a lot of high level AAU kids.

Fans can yell all they want. They can't create a hostile environment though. Cursing is an automatic removal.

I once worked a game at a Christian high school and the home crowd didn't like a few of my calls. Wasn't a huge crowd so you could hear everyone. A really big cat got up from one end of the stands and stomped down the floor to the other end where I was getting ready to have a throw-in. Fortunately, the police saw him and followed him down to where he sat. They went up and made sure he wasn't going to do anything stupid. He was fine after that.

Heard HMS 6th & 7th beat IHM pretty handily tonight.
