Wrong.

How so?? The coach is responsible for scheduling. He is aware of (or should be aware of) the issues with scheduling games on Sundays based on his employers rules. He should secure the necessary permissions prior to committing to the event. The tournament director is responsible for scheduling and running the tournament. The games should be scheduled in a safe and responsible way, and should only allow entry for teams that can fulfill the schedule requirements. What am I missing?? Forget the fact that you think the rule is silly......the rule is out there and common knowledge. Ignorance of a rule is not an excuse for not following it.

So the Campbell County tournament, particularly this year's 8th grade field, did a great job of drawing good teams... but I wonder why they would have structured the pools the way they did. I am not complaining, because I think it is great to play challenging teams early in the season, but honestly I think the best, 2nd best, 3rd best and 4th best teams are all in the A pool ... Its great that CCMS Purple, Highlands, Gray and Twenhofel will all play 3 meaningful games in pool play, but it pretty much eliminates the meaning of the championship game where the winner of the A pool plays the winner of the B pool ...

Missed Q's post earlier in the thread...my bad.

I know I asked earlier but has anyone seen Holmes 8th grade yet THIS YEAR....all I keep hearing is how loaded and good they are. Yet it seems like there hasn't been much on here about them.

RJS and JV, lets make sure we seperate the two issues at hand. Not being allowed to play on Sunday and 3 games in 4 hours are seperate issues.

JV, if I remember where your kid goes to school, and knowing that AD, that could explain your situation with the none approval. We can discuss that privately if you like.

3 games in 4 hours is not good this early in the season, as players are still not in game shape yet either. I put that on the tournament director.

Agreed, 3 games in 4 hours is not smart, especially when games started at 900 and ended at 500 I believe. With most teams playing only 2 games on Sat. According to the schedule posted previously the host team played at 900 and 100? ??

Its because all of the people on here who have followed the boys in that class really have no clue why everyone is hyping them up. They have been pretty good the past couple years but not anything special or dominating. My guess is there are some new faces on that roster. It seems like every year there are new faces in Holmes middle school lineups.

Holmes a big kid now in the middle. He is a decent player, nice addition for #23 who I believe played for Holmes last year. I don't know all of these kids names, but I don't recall seeing the kid who plays in the middle now. If you throw in the guard from Turkeyfoot now they should be a better team. They still shoot a lot of 3's from what I saw at Lloyd, but seem more athletic this year.
