No, there was a big for Holmes 7th grade last year at the districts at Highlands that the refs fouled out that could have taken them to the regionals. I mean the refs there took him out.

I saw Dontea (sp?) firsthand last night in a REC game. He is really good. He would get JV minutes at Dixie for sure.

 

Not sure why he was playing in a REC league though.

 

Also, are we positive he is only 13? I spoke with him. He does not look like a 13-year-old, nor does his voice sound like one either. But, I'm sure LeBron James didn't either.

100 percent positive. i have had to copy his birth certificate a dozen times.

I should always wear sweats without a doubt, but they just aren't as comfortable as shorts no matter how bad my legs look...

In 6th grade action tonight in the Lloyd Pre Season Tournament Beechwood beat Gray 37-13. RA Jones beat Tichenor. Conner was beating Turkeyfoot at the half when I left.

Conner 6th beat St. Pius and Turkeyfoot tonight in preseason action. Conner looks to have two quick point guards, a couple of nice wing players and two post players that move well.

 

Saw a little bit of Beechwood, they look good. Tall team with good guards. They should do well in their league this year.

I think it might wind up being unfortunate that Beechwood is playing the "small school" division of the NKMSAA league... heck, I even thought they had a pretty competitive group of 8th grade kids, too....

Trust me it isn't their choice. Beechwood's 6th grade is probably one of the better 6th grade teams. A lot of kids that have played AAU at a high level.

I think Beechwood, IHM, and Highlands will be the strongest 6th grade teams. You could throw Conner in the next tier. I have seen all of these kids play AAU.

Forgot to mention Rankin is playing 8th grade...I think Gray was playing Beechwood this evening for 8th grade. Looks like all the Gray kids have grown some over the summer.

Isn't there a Kaiser kid at St. Paul that is really good in that 6th grade class? I assume he is related to the St. Henry volleyball coach? I know nothing about their team, but I've heard that kid is really good.

Marty Kaiser was a very good player at St. Henry back in the mid 80's. He is married to Maureen Shea who was an awesome Volleyball player as well at St. Hank. I would imagine their son has some strong skills and size if it is the one.
