Paul Kremer is in 7th, so to is the point guard you mentioned from Newport Caleb Jefferson. Both and Salter play for AAU team I coach with Chris McGuire. Great group looking forward to seeing them all play in school ball.

I was trying to give you a plug. That is a really good group that you have. I enjoyed watching a couple of your practices. Nobody rocks coaches shorts like you, Skinny. Hope all is well with your team.

Plays with the kentucky royals in leagues at landmark and soas, and last aau season at the national tournament. He played this past session with the warriors at soas. Kid is built to play the game, long with a good handle, outstanding beyond the arc 80-85 percent from line.

What number did he wear for the Warriors? And are we talking about the 8th grade session at soas?

Yes, 8th grade session at SOAS. The Royals played up in the 9th without him. I believe he wore number 8 for the Warriors... but if you had seen them play, and he had been there, there is no way you could have missed him I don't think.

IF we are talking about the same kid, he scored 6 points and fouled out in the 3rd quarter playing against a school team. Then his dad stomped off and they both left before the game was over. He is a very good player but I think he is being overhyped. That is if we are talking about the same kid...which I think we are.

I don't know what you saw, but I have trouble believing you have the right kid. a) I have never seen his dad at a game; b) his uncle, who comes to some games, I have never heard say a word.

Go to the high school boys/top players class of 2019 thread... Walter linked to some Dontae highlights. See if that is the kid you're thinking of. Actually, I think you can google him (Dontae Allen) and you'll find video....

It is very possible that I am thinking about the wrong guy. I will check and report back

Did he play frosh last year for PC? If so he has a nice game but if memory serves me correctly I believe HHS handled the team. He has a long way to develop to be best in class. A talented player yes top in class not yet.

What 8th grader in the Commonwealth of Kentucky would you put ahead of him? Because honestly I don't think anyone in northern Kentucky is even close, so I am wondering who you have seen that is more impressive.

If Dontea is not the best 13 yr old in NKY then who is please?? If he was playing freshmen last year as a 7th grader it's not likley we'll be seeing him play 8th this year. He has an Anthony Davis build and over the past off season has picked up his game considerably.

To be clear...I am not saying he is not the best 8th grader in NKY. I saw him play 3 quarters this fall, maybe I caught him on an off day. I have not seen him or a lot of other NKY players enough to make that judgment.

Just saying, the big kid from Holmes 7th last year could be super if he had more game experience. Rakwan is really good, Rankin can play good inside and outside.

8th grade is going to be competive this year and fun to watch.

I should always wear sweats without a doubt, but they just aren't as comfortable as shorts no matter how bad my legs look...

Not the 1970's Bike Coaches shorts? Please no. Lol

I agree with Tig, but I don't want to keep beating the drum or be elected president of the fan club. I have seen him play A LOT the last few months, including open gyms at NCC and in a national AAU tournament, and I think his game has gone to a different level. I could be wrong... but I don't think I am. He is long, can light it up, has an exceptional handle, is dunking in games at the age of 13, and has 2 parents that played D1 college basketball. I will just wait and see how things develop...

Are you talking about the big kid that played for Holmes as a 6th grader and Tichenor last year as a 7th grader, who also plays with the Legends? I don't recall any other big kids that played 7th for Holmes last year....
