rjs4470
Need someone else to step up and get us a winning series. The Phillies manager Gabe Kapler may be the guy to step up and get the Reds some wins. He’s done some strange things already this year.

Maybe the only time all season that the Reds will have the advantage in the managerial department.

AverageJoesGym
Fill us in on the Kapler factor. What strange things has he done? He pulled Nola with a 5-0 lead after only 68 pitches. The bullpen promptly blew the lead and the game. He also pulled a pitcher without having anyone warming up in the bullpen and ran himself out of pitchers in a blowout loss to the point that he had to use a position player to pitch-- even though he had an expanded bullpen because of the extra off days. In all he used 21 pitchers in the first 3 games. rjs4470
Fill us in on the Kapler factor. What strange things has he done? 1) Up 5-0, pulled starter Aaron Nola in the 5th while throwing a shutout, and only throwing 68 pitches. Used 5 different relievers (never using his best 2 relievers), who blew 5-0 lead, and ended up losing the game. 2) went to the mound early in a game to make a pitching change. Only problem was he had nobody warming up. Made pitching change anyway, bringing in a reliever without any warm up. 3) Made 26 pitching changes in the first 5 games. 4) Made a really questionable defensive alignment, where the right fielder was playing crazy shallow, late in the game. Hitter hits what should have been a catchable ball over RF's head for a triple driving in the go ahead runs, leading to another loss. The decision was based on the hit chart, but late in game, the correct play is usually to take away extra base hits, and playing a little deeper. Kapler had a really rough first couple weeks, and has been really guilty of overmanaging. Players aren't happy either, as he hasn't communicated well. Things do seem to have settled down, and they just took a series from the awful Marlins.
sumoroyal
Reds had bases loaded and no outs and scored one run. On a bases loaded walk to DuVall. Hard to score when the batters are Barnhart, Irvin and Pennington. Not quite murders row.
sumoroyal
Reed gives up a two run Home Run in the first. I think the opposing team has scored in every first inning this year.

sumoroyal
The main problem with the Reds is that they have 6-10 players that don't deserve to be on a major league roster.
