newarkcatholicfan
Oakland(14-8, 6-3 Horizon) has now gone 21-3 in their last 24 Horizon games. With that stat this one should not be a shock, but then again Northern Kentucky(14-7, 7-2 Conf) came in playing very well and tied with Wright State(Who won last night) This was just a four point game at the half, with the road warriors leading. Coming out after half time, the road warriors slowly showed that on this night, they were the better team on the court. Leading Oakland with a game high 33 points was,Kendrick Nunn(Chicago, Ill)Jalen Hayes(Lansing, Mich) came in with 21 points. The Golden Grizzlies only went three deep into their bench and got just 3 points for it. The Norse got 19 points and 10 rebounds from,Drew McDonald(Cold Spring, KY) Mason Faulkner(Glasgow, KY) logged 22 minutes off of the bench and scored 15 points. Dantez Walton(Lima, Ohio) came off of the bench to play 21 minutes and chipped in with 13 points. The bench unit scored a total of 32 points and saw 4 players get into the game. UKMustangFan
Best part of the night by far was when they surprised the 7 year old birthday boys with their father, who they thought was still overseas stationed in Italy. Place got super dusty right about then. Type of thing that just gives ya chills.
tcjkbt
I watched this game off and on and did not see Carson Williams play. Is he injured?
UKMustangFan
I watched this game off and on and did not see Carson Williams play. Is he injured? Nope, he was out there. He was virtually invisible though. Easily the worst game of his NKU career IMO.
ManOfTroy
Disappointing performance by the Norse on their home court, especially by the starting 5. If not for Faulkner and Walton off the bench, it would have been a blowout. Now, have to hope Oakland stays hot and beat Wright State on Sunday. If they do, NKU still has the opportunity for the #1 seed in their hands. Also, the uncontested dunk by Nunn with .6 seconds left did not sit well with the Norse. I hope there's a rematch in Detroit because it will be intense.

tark the shark
I watched the first meeting at Oakland, I thought it was NKU's best performance of the year. They hit some incredible shots that night, thought it would be hard to duplicate.

PutMeInCoach
Yes. Did you watch the game? 7 for 18 FG, 0 for 6 threes, 5 for 9 FT, missed wide open layup Yup, he looked off for sure. He had multiple wide open looks. The Nunn dunk at the end was as classless as it comes.
ColonelPops
I'd like to see Drew take less 3s.He's shooting 53% from 2 and 30% from 3. He's effective in the backdown game and it opens up looks for others.

Sounds like he may have been off a bit, but a double double is still impressive.

He can clearly hit from there (much better last year) and it's part of what makes him an excellent player but sometimes you got to know it's not your night and do something else.
