Thank Your Local Fire Fighters

I have lived in Ft. Mitchell most of my life. Our fire department has always been manned by great people, including generations of family men who have served. I took it all for granted.

I woke up early Thursday morning to my own home on fire. I can't say enough great things about the response from the Fort Mitchell Fire Department. The quick response, the professionalism and the kindness shown to my family was unbelievable.

If you have the opportunity, thank a fire fighter.

Everybody is ok, but the house has extensive damage. Thank goodness for insurance!

BTW, I'm with you on fire fighters. My dad was one for decades, something I was always very proud of him for.

I am so glad that neither you or anyone else were hurt during the fire.

Firefighters are awesome! So much respect for the men and women who run towards danger to keep us safe.

No official word yet. It started on the back porch by the grill and went up the back of the house. Inspectors still working on the exact cause.
