Let's go Krogering?

Rumor is that Commonwealth Stadium will be renamed as the naming rights have been sold by JMI Sports and it will now be named, "Kroger Field."

As part of their 15 year $210,000,000 deal with the University of Kentucky, JMI Sports has sold the naming rights. The money from the naming rights will all go to JMI, not the UofK.

Ugh, hate it. I know it's a permanent part of our culture now and is a revenue stream, but I can't stand these corporate-named fields/stadiums.

Why would Kroger do this with Commonwealth Stadium? It seems like and odd fit for Kroger.

If they're going to dip their toe in the water, they might as well dive right in. I think they should forget CM Newton and sell sponsorship of the grounds to Folgers Coffee instead.
