I'm a die hard Estill County fan but no way are they even close to being a top 25 team not to mention they lost to both Madison Central and Rockcastle County (mercy ruled) and they still got more votes than both of those two teams. No way.

Again, not a softball expert or even a little knowledgable, but there are no NKY schools from the tri-county area in the Top 50 (unless Holy Cross is Covington, which I don't think it is). Why is that? Has the talent pool gone down that much? Are the teams young?

2nd to 3rd population area in state doesn't make sense just sheer population numbers.

The rankings can't be accurate at all.

What is it based on?

Whats it based on ? Past results , which mean very little , Ashland in the top 25 is silly , they have been very UNDER rated some years as they have a good program , but ranking them this season shows whoever is voting doesnt really know whats going on in EKY .

Ashland was beaten 17-16 by Raceland , they gave up 9 in the first inning , lost to Madison-N H 11-1 , lost to Male 10-3 , lost to Boyle 10-3 . Lone win is 6-4 over Lawrence Co . That doesnt call for being ranked IMO .

The weekly rankings are determined by votes received from high school coaches who are members of the Kentucky Softball Coaches Association. Obviously, there is plenty of room for debate...

I'll give my opinion on this when I'm sitting at my computer.....but in short, Soccer (the Communist sport) LOL, Volleyball, & Basketball.

Do they play softball in NKy?

Boone County played a team that received several votes and won 12-0. Do the coaches in NKY not vote?
