gchs_uk9
In the fall, I posted a run down of the fifty greatest high school football programs in Kentucky history. The rankings were compiled through a formula that awarded points for various achievements. Tonight we will unveil a list for the greatest basketball programs in Kentucky history. Like football, basketball also has a points formula. Teams are credited with district championships (dating back to 1927), regional championships (also dating to 1927), state tournament wins (dating to 1918), and state championships won. (District and region championships date to 1927 because the postseason format has remained almost unchanged since then). The formula certainly isn't perfect and you may disagree with the rankings. That's fine! In case of ties, the team with the most state championships gets the better ranking. If that number is the same, I added the total number of district, region, and state championships together and the highest number gets the better ranking. I'm putting out the rankings over a four day period. Check back each day this week for an update.

JacobCarey5530
The fact that CovCath makes number 35 after having the majority of their success in the past 4 years really does make me wonder where South Oldham might end up, if at all.

Covington Catholic won five straight regional titles and was state runner-up in the late-1960s.
