Randy Parker
What kind of seed can Murray get if they dominate? I was thinking it would be just like the NCAA to make them an 8/9 to UK's 1 & put them in the Yum for a potential second round matchup.
bugatti
Murray hosts EKU tomorrow night. Murray was dealt a big blow when Senior Forward Ivan Aska broke his finger last week at EIU. He will be out a minimum of 6 games. Aska is the team leader and averages 12.6 pts. and 6 rebs. a game.
Randy Parker
Wasn't aware of that. That'll hurt them. Just checked Lunardi. He has Murray at 7 in the same region w/ UK. But UL is the 2.

I still believe they will drop 2-3 games in conference which would put them around the 10-11 mark if they are able to win the tournament. Hoping they get drawn to play in Nashville. In '98 Murray went 29-3 with some quality wins like they have this season and were an 8 seed.
bugatti
I know it will not last, but it is crazy having the #18 ranked team in Murray right now. The OVC's biggest rivalry (APSU/MSU) takes place Saturday in Clarksville. I look for Murray to drop that one.
Randy Parker
Lunardi has them in Nashville w/ UL. They're a scary team. As a UK fan, they're somebody I don't desire to play in the 2nd round.
Wireman
Morehead's season may have taken a major hit over the weekend as senior Terrance Hill went down with an apparent knee injury. It didn't look good, but no official word on anything yet. I'm praying that it is just a sprain or something that isn't very serious.

Randy Parker
Luckily, if Lunardi predicts that, there's absolutely no chance that it'll actually happen. :thumb:  The committee does like doing things like this, though. UL has now played Morehead twice in the tournament in recent years. UK opened with EKU in Indy back in 2005 & then took on Cincinnati in the next round. Get some local teams playing in a fairly local venue & you sell more tickets. I see it happening in some way, shape or form. Either UK w/ a potential 2nd round matchup vs. Murray in Yum, or perhaps UL facing them in Nashville.

dolamite
Further proof that Lunardi is crazy: http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/bracketology The whole concept of predicting brackets before conference play even starts is ridiculous anyway. At least the dudes smart enough to land a job because of it.

bugatti
It is not luck. It is common sense. There are two sides to the whole Lunardi predictions I have never understood. - Those who loathe the guy and think he is an idiot. The guy is hired to arbitrarily put together brackets. Obviously he has no idea how things will shake out, but a lot of non-sports fans love the NCAA tournament and it is an attempt to get that base energized. - Those who think he is brilliant when selection Sunday finally comes. When it comes down to it, we are talking about a handful of teams that are on the border of making or not making the NCAA tournament. It does not take a brain surgeon. Nearly half the field is take up by automatic bids, so that part of the guessing game is out. 75% of the remaining spots are filled by teams that are locks. So we are talking a small number. So when you hear that "He got 65 out of 68" correct!" What they are really saying is that he got 4 out 7 correct.
bugatti
Murray State has played EKU terribly since Neubauer was hired. Solid record, but the games have always been close.
