  1. I don't think I said Rutgers came in with extremely high expectations and that they're so amazing. But they DID come in as the favorite to win the game convincingly. UC didn't come in with very high expectations at all, therefore; they have exceeded expectations. Aside from that, just from watching them, I feel that as a team they look good offensively and defensively. Oregon St. will tell alot, but I think they match up well against them. I don't know why you're not understanding what I have said. I guess I'm just not conveying it properly.
  2. Reality Tuesdays is right past CovCath on the left in a little strip with Loschiavos' fruits and veggies store. If you like coffee it's also amazing. I'm addicted and go there a couple times a week.
  3. I don't know if you live close to Park Hills, but I LOVE the chicken salad sandwich from Reality Tuesdays. I was also a fan of Paneras' but then they changed it. Max and Ermas' has a decent one. I'm not sure where else would have a good chicken salad sandwich but I agree it's delicious.
  4. lol, he did. But he was kidding, I'd think. And it was 20 years ago, and he issued an apology. I'm sure he's embarassed that it surfaced.
  5. Nice. I have heard all kinds of stories, so I don't know, maybe he wasn't, maybe he was. Either way, even if it tied up, I think CCH pulls it out. There was something special about that night and it was pulling for CCH. It was just a good game for everyone to be a part of.
  6. Good, I'm glad to hear that. And exactly my point, we don't know what happened with Wilson, so let's not condemn him yet. So many jumped to Faulkners' defense, just though I'd offer up some help for Wilson since people have already convicted him. I have a brother on scholarship for baseball. If he got caught drinking, fighting, punching girls/boys, driving drunk, stealing..I'd expect punishment, up to pulling of scholarship/being kicked off the team.
  7. He'll have a great career at RB in high school, but you're right, I definitely see him at the FB position if he goes to the D1 level, with some added weight on him. He doesn't lack in the acceleration department necessarily, he just lacks stamina at this point. I promise you, his speed is as fast as any other kid mentioned if not faster. The problem is, with the way he runs, by powering through and lowering his head and dragging down three guys in the process, he wears down. By the second half he doesn't have the ability to accelerate like he would in the first half, but the ability IS there.
  8. lol, yes, but both are illegal. And Faulkner was arrested. But I fully expected the double standard here. For some reason people just accept underage drinking and fighting and acting foolish. What Wilson did is obviously not accepted (as well it shouldn't be), and I expected people to cry "punish him to the fullest extent of the law" out of the gate. If we're gonna say this about him, we'd have to say the same thing about Faulkner. I vote we wait and see the story and how it plays out before condemning him. That's what seemed to be the common vote for Faulkner too. IMO if you do something that is illegal, get arrested, etc. while you're on scholarship, the school has the right and should envoke the right to take away the scholarship. Kicking off the team is up to the coach, AD, whatever, but I don't want a school paying for kids who can't conduct themselves, when there is another kid out there who will that needs the money. This goes for the kid who punches a girl, and the kid who drinks and gets in a fight and gets arrested in the process.
  9. I don't believe I said they were expected to do big things this year. I said I expect them to now after watching them. Going into the season I don't think people thought they'd look as good as they have.
  10. From some people standing right there, with a better vantage point than I, he didn't get in. Close but no and the refs made the right call. But if I were Rash I wouldn't wanna hear about it either. That was an amazing ganme though.
  11. I feel the same as swide. I've never let an announcer ruin a game for me. Collinsworth wouldn't even come close to being bad enough to effect the game for me. Oddly enough, as soon as I saw this thread, I go to aol.com and see a video of Collinsworth 25 years ago...saying some not so wonderful things, hopefully in jest. I kind of feel bad it came out now, he's a good family man and it's just kind of stupid what he says. The writer of the article makes such a good point about being careful what you say in front of a camera lol.
  12. I think he comes off as arrogant, and sometimes sounds like he's whining about what a team does. (Steelers vs. Titans...Titans defense..he went on and on about it). But I'd rather listen to him than Madden so.
  13. I'm not saying Rutgers has done anything of value, or that they are a top 10 team. But all a team, (UC in this situation) can do is play a good ball game and exceed the expectations that everyone had for them. They have more than done that, handily beating both opponents so far and watching them offensively and defensively, it seems they have a real good thing. A true test is this week and will really show what they have...but I think Rutgers was enough of a quality team to say that UCs offense and defense really looked that good. SEMO not so much.
  14. Lol. Nothing can be drama free down in Park Hills, eh?
  15. Who it Littrell? 94 mph? Where was he last season? I'm not being skeptical, but I had a pretty close eye on HS baseball the past four years and i don't remember the name.
  16. No. You have to see what they do against Florida and Alabama. That's brutal. They could either catapult into the 25, or completely get wiped...
  17. Rutgers was picked by MANY to win the game and the game was looked at as possibly the Big East championship game...the first game. And UC annihilated them. A big test will be this upcoming game, but to say Rutgers wasn't a worthy opponent...I'll give you SEMO, but not Rutgers.
  18. Hope they keep moving up. I really like what I see of them. I love Gilyard as a player, just all around.
  19. If this isn't some girl crying foul, and the charges end up going through, he deserves punishment. I don't think he deserves to have his scholarship taken away (if he is on scholarship) or to be kicked off the team, but there should be consequences. It isn't alright for men to hit women. On the same token, it's a total double standard for it to be okay for women to be able to hit men. I'm a woman and if I started punching my boyfriend, I'd expect him to defend himself. I don't mean beating me silly, but if it happens to involve a punch so be it. I'm not a helpless little girl and I know if I hit someone I can do damage. We don't know the full details of this story just yet...and when Radfords' Faulkner was arrested a couple weeks ago people were crying, kids are kids, it happens, shouldn't affect his scholarship etc etc, hear the full details. Let's wait it out. Will be sad if it plays out...he's a darn good athlete.
  20. It could have to do with wearing down. At the beginning of games, i believe he has the ability to do that, as evidenced in his return for a touchdown I believe in both the CovCath and possibly it was Highlands, I'm not sure for long yardage. But as the game goes, due to the way he powers through defenders, his body wears down, and his break away speed starts to lack and defenders can catch him from behind, which makes him look as though he's not as fast. He's every bit as fast as his brother, if not more so. The lack of cutting ability is something else entirely. Austin collinsworth and Simpson are on another level when it comes to this. Watching Collinsworth cut as he runs is amazing. Elliott just doesn't have that ability, he's kind of stiff. He just powers ahead north to south.
  21. You're right about his speed, talent, what he needs to work on etc etc. People say he isn't as fast, lacks speed..nope. He just is bulkier than the others who are as fast. But mexitucky is right, I see him as a FB moreso than a RB.
  22. Cody and Travis actually have very similiar speed, they just look different because of their size. Travis is just as fast. And on top of it he has power. The one thing he is lacking right now is the break away speed, and his cuts aren't very strong. Right now he has D1 talent, his size may be the only thing that holds him back. He is almost TOO bulky. We'll see. In two years it may be unreal the things he can do. I've seen both Pike and Elliott play, and both have the ability to possibly go D1 one day. The difference is, Elliotts' talent is on another level right now. I'm not impressed with Pike, but I see the size potential and all of that. And as Clyde said, if you include juniors, Hempel is by far in the top. But Elliott is the top underclassman and it isn't close..
  23. Awful news. Lost a good one today...he was an all around good person class act and a rarity in Hollywood.
  24. lol my cousin said her dancing is gross..he's a male..I don't know.
  25. lol, it doesn't make me grouching that I'm a lady who thinks there are better looking ladies out there. I never said I was one of them, I mean she is def. not hideous, I just don't look at her and think "wow, wish I looked like that." Halle Berry. yes.
