This is a really nice showing for CCH.

This team is still finding their strengths and weak points. If they can get the defense to tighten up a little, I like what I'm seeing from the offense.

Coach Wirth had the team in position to beat the GCL Cin LaSalle team, but a poor snap and a very late pass interference call made the difference. Now I am not saying it wasn't a penalty, but when the WR jumps up and down and screams while walking toward the back judge before he finally drops the flag, well...

The score was closer than what was on the scoreboard at the end as the last TD's was score by LaSalle was with a just about a 1:00 left in the game. It really was a two point loss.

Erpenbeck had a huge day, and looked outstanding both running the ball and throwing it. CovCath still needs to get a running game besides their QB running the ball.

Was told Cin LaSalle has a little over 900 boys attending the school, and the LaSalle fan who told me that, was quite surprised when I told him CovCath was a school of around or a little less than 500 boys.

All in all I was impressed with the effort of the team today as they didn't quit and kept plugging away!

Today the effort was there but they need to play smarter! CovCath is getting closer and again you can see the improvements! They are learning and they are very near the end of that very, very dark tunnel that they have been in for the last two year!

BTW nice pictures PaNDA or should I say CovCath Dad!

The only downside to this is the Cincy people are saying LaSalle is really down.....

Cov Cath seems to be getting better and better every week.

Yes they are but then again they should expect that. Didn't make the game but what did Schaffer do today?

Not much really, as it was Erpenbeck and Connelly who were the "O" stars today.

Lasalle owned the interior of the line on both sides of the ball. No running lane for Schaeffer who was getting first contact behind the LOS. It was a problem all day for CCH.

Very rarely does one plan change a game but today the snap over the punter's head in the first half changed the game.

Lastly when you're an official you have to be decisive. Twice today officials simply didn't make a call at all and then later suddenly made a call. The PI call was ridiculous. You can't throw a flag 4 to 5 seconds after the ball sails past the receiver. It wasn't like he couldn't see or he couldn't get his flag out. Unfortunately, it was a crucial call as CCH would have had possession.

On the play going into the EZ where the Lasalle back fumbled the official standing right there simply didn't do anything. You either have a live ball (CCH recovered in the end zone) or you blow your whistle or point to the ground to signal down by contact. Nothing. CCH recovered (which took 2 to 3 seconds at least after the fumble) and then simply brought the ball out and gave it back. It ultimately could have been the right call. The official just simply failed to do what should have been done which can leave a bad taste.

The only downside to this is the Cincy people are saying LaSalle is really down.....

They may be down by GCL standards but by NKY standards they were HUGE. I'm pretty sure they have a DB going D1 (IU maybe). Down is relative.

Not trying to throw anyone under the bus but I am pretty positive one of the officials in todays game was going through in-game training.

They are down. They will struggle to win 2 more games on the remainder of their schedule.

La Salle always seems to have at least one big time D-1 player on their team. DeVier Posey-Ohio St. and Ben Martin -Ten. to name a couple.

I have connections at La Salle and I don't think they have 900 boys, not 100% sure, but I will check.
