lol that is a good reason. But I dont think it is money, I just think that Luke knows the smart thing to do would be to go to college and improve upon his skills so that he gets drafted higher thus increasing his pay opportunity. He likely will be in a much better position three years from now.

I think we'll be seeing him at UK next year.

I'm not sure where that impression came from... All I saw were Mid-Major coaches walking out early shaking their head. Ohio U, Miami (Oh), Akron... etc.

Yeah... Mohamed Conde is #3. No college interest. Dunking doesn't make you a major prospect. Their point guard was #10 not 11 and he was really quick with the ball and tall for a PG but he has no interest either at this point. His name is Brandon Gouch, and he didn't stroke it. He made one three.

I think a lot of it has to do with coaching. Some of the kids just flat out shouldn't be playing in the situations they are in, and I don't feel like the coach puts a team out there to WIN ball games. I sincerely hope at tournaments the coach is playing his best players, and not just subbing in and out all over randomly. Some of the kids indeed have a lot of baseball smarts to learn. I have not been to many games, but from what i've seen, with the talent they have, they are not doing as well as they should nor are they being put in the situation to win.

Someone I talked to made a good point. If you are first team all-state [and you're a senior, or junior] you should be part of the all-star game automatically. Both Isler, and Kidd I believe is his name from Ohio County were left off, among others, who would not only have improved the quality of the games, as I heard it wasn't stellar, and who deserved to be there. But it's over and hopefully in the future they fix the way kids are put in so as to acknowledge the ones who deserve to be there.

lol..the classic "he would have went in the top 10 but he wanted too much money". I have not seen Perkins, so i won't cast judgement on if the other two are better, but Isler and the kid at Franklin Co. were the most impressive I saw as well this year. And for the record, I have seen/heard of a lot of ball players across the state and I'd never heard of Perkins, so probably you should relax and be happy with someone saying he is one of the best 3 or so that he has seen.

It is my understanding that the Red Sox invite all of their draft picks to this work out. Regardless of whether he goes to college or not, what a great experience it will be to work out at Fenway with all their other draft picks.

I think people just refuse to accept that he needs some time in college to get better so that he IS a high draft pick. At this point in time, he was not good enough to be considered top 10. That is okay, no big deal, he's 18 and he'll get a good education and improve upon his skills at UK. Of course they're going to watch and see how he does, but if they wanted him bad enough, they would have gotten him because he thought he would be going in the top 10 rounds, and if he would have I'm sure he would have signed. He didn't come out and say "I'm going to college" and he didn't say he'd only go for some ridiculous amount of money. It is what it is ya'll.

IMO Ryan Darner from Covcath should have been second team or honorable mention but I see how its hard to choose because he was a very strong hitter but there are many strong hitters who were likely not chosen. I too find it sad however that on a team with Maile, Isler, and Darner...only one will represent in the all star game in lexington. All three were very deserving.

Exactly! He deserved the Mr. Baseball award for his past three years no doubt in my mind. Also congrats to him and Zach Isler on first team all-state honors, and AJ Smith and Jeramie Conner honorable mention all-state!

Would have to agree. If CovCath would have made this best of 3 series, not Beechwood, I think the end result would have been a lot different for Harrison. But the better team between Harrison and Beechwood def. won and I wish Harrison the best of luck!
