Cov Cath PG next year

Featured Replies

Who will run the show next year?

Wilson, Pauly, Maschinot, Riedinger? Someone else?

Pauly will get the majority of the minutes assuming he stays healthy.

They have a kid named Evans that will be a 1 or 2 as well.

What grade is Evans? I do not remember him from last year

SR - looks strong this summer. Has skill. Starter if he decides to stick with b-ball.

I believe you're referring to Trey Evans. Pretty sure he plays soccer at CCH and plays AAU ball with the KY Players.

Thanks. He must be a decent player if He plays this year after not playing ball for them last year, and I don't rememer him playing JV the year before as a soph either. Not too many guys seem to be able to play for Coach L after not playing ball for him for a couple years.

Since you have seen them play this summer, how did the other three look? Evans play mostly a 1 or a 2?

Evans will primarily play a 2. He is a player who has the ability to get very, very hot at times. He can shoot the 3 and is also an athletic player. Clearly he is readjusting to playing basketball again as opposed to one-on-one, but there is no lack of talent.

Pauly and Maschinot will primarily be the PG's, but they also play very, very well together. Pauly is the Jonny Flynn to Machinot's Rubio (which are actually pretty accurate comparisons, relative to the high school level). We'll see how the experiment goes!

Machinot is a good player but I don't think Jonny Flynn ever came to mind as I watched him last year. They don't even play the same style of game. I never saw Machinot take charge of a game. Did I miss something?

Good athlete who is not quite ready for the PG position. He'll be a 2 IMO with some 1 responsibility occasionally.

Pauly at 1, Maschinot at 2, and CCH better hope both step up or it will be another painful season.

If Pauly stays healthy he should play the point.

I got Machinot as the Rubio- a young athletic point guard who lacks a great shot but is pass-first and full of potential.

From what I saw last year, Machinot's best asset is his shooting. He did not look like a point guard. I think the posts by others on here that have Pauly running point are probably accurate.

His shooting is a better asset than his quickness?????
