St. X is a fine program but I don't see how SI could overlook Trinity. T has won 7 state titles (X has 1) and been in the state championship every year but 2004, since 2000.

I agree. Especially when one of those players is your force down low (Fant) and the other is your point guard. (Shanklin) No disrespect to the Bulldogs as they beat the kids that DS put on the floor, but I doubt they win with DS having all their players. Didn't the Bulldogs get beat by them pretty bad earlier in the summer? Or was this the first time they've met?

Were Zollo and Behanan matched up at all? Interested in knowing how that went, if so.

Anyone know if Kingdom Prep is in this tournament?

Thanks. Heard Remy Abell from Eastern was one of the more impressive players in this tournament in the c/o 2011. He may very well solidify himself as the best player for that class here in KY.

Did Chane Behanan play in this tournament? Or was he at the Lebron camp? I haven't seen or heard anything about him.

Ky Players (Pittman, Johnson Brothers, Slusher) went 0-2 in pool play but won the the silver bracket championship.

Anyone know how Shining Stars 17u did against the Detroit Stars in the gold Quarters?

17U update: K.Y Players and Derek Smith East are both in the semi finals in the silver bracket. KY Players play All Ohio Force at 1:00 on court 5. DS East play Mustang Ballers at 1:00 on court 6.

17U update: Silver bracket: KY Players defeated Wrecking Crew. ^^Played Tennessee Edge at 2:40. No update from that game yet. Gold Bracket: EKY Lightning lost to WAVE in first round. Derek Smith lost to Detroit Stars in first round.

The game that I watched was the 8:00 game over at UC on court 6. The team I'm referring to also had a tall lanky white kid that was probably in the 6'10 range. He was a few inches taller than Pittman.

I never said dunking made him a major prospectt. I was simply saying he had a few nice dunks. His overall play was impressive both offensively and defensively. He handled the ball well for his size, was able to get to the rim, had a decent jumper, and rebounded extremely well. When he was guarding Ricardo Johnson, he seemed to frustrate him some with his pressure defense. And their starting point guard was #11...not #10. #10 was a shorter kid that had dreads, so not sure which game you were watching. #11 also knocked down 4 or 5 three's and had back to back 3's late in the second half and then attempted another on the next possession but missed. I think you may be thinking of a different team or different game because they definetly had a #11 that started for them. You may be thinking of #21...he was in the 6'3 range and played the point some. The kid I'm thinking of was only around 6'1.

And that will continue to be his only offer unless he gets away from the KY Players...I hate to say that, but it's true. Ricardo is rated by many scouting services as the best player in the state, but yet he has only one offer? From what I hear, a lot of college coaches don't want to deal with the AAU coach that they play for. How true that is, I don't know. Hopefully Ricardo realizes he's much better than that one Bradley offer and he takes his game elsewhere the rest of the summer, along with Elijah and JJ. They all three received a lot of exposure playing for the Prophets last summer...more than they're receiving now. All three are legit D1 caliber players. I realize Pittman may have some issues and have to take the JUCO route, but I see no reason why JJ isn't receiving more D1 attention.

I agree...there were also a few kids from the second team that Ky Players played that stood out to me as well. Common Bond-Hicks. #11 for them and #3. #11 was a very solid pg that was stroking it from outside and handled the ball extremely well...#3 was a very athletic wing that had a few nice dunks and blocks...one dunk came on a breakaway oop off the glass from a teammate...absolutely nasty. Anything on those two?

I agree. Needs to figure out whether he's going to play inside or out. He is the key to Holmes success though. If Coach Henley can light a fire under him and get him to play with the intensity that we saw during the state tournament and against teams like Scott Co, the sky is the limit for them. When he actually plays to his potential and gets serious, nobody in the state can stop him IMO.

Must've just had a good game then...Tabb and Canty were both impressive, but Wells seemed to do it all, rebound, defend, score, and handled the ball very well under pressure. I plan on getting out to see them tomorrow as well in bracket play, so I should have a better evaluation after seeing them a second time.

I just didn't see it tonight. You can tell the talent is there by watching him when he actually has the ball, but when he doesn't have it, seems as if he's just standing around waiting for it. To his credit though, he did play well on defense.

BTW, had a chance to talk with Coach Huggins tonight during the first few minutes of the KY Players game...he is quite the character. Very funny man and down to earth as they come.

I believe the CP3 AS beat DC Assault 73-61. Do you know who #21 is for CP3?

I'm pretty sure Christian was held back... Brutus might be able to give us a definite answer though.

As far as Holmes goes, I had a chance to see the Johnsons, Pittman, and Slusher tonight. Ricardo is going to be tough next year. His outside shot looks as if it's improved since last year and he finishes at the rim VERY STRONG. I was impressed with how much contact he was able to take at the rim and still hang long enough to finish the shot and get the "and one." Very quick off the dribble as well. JJ looks as if he's grown some since last year. From where I was sitting, he looks to be the same height as Ricardo now, possibly a bit bigger. Still needs to work on his outside shot, as it looked absolutely horrible but his ball handling has improved tremendously and he rebounded very well. Pittman was a big disappointment. He had a few nice drives and buckets and a dunk on a breakaway but other than that it was a bunch of playing around. I realize it's just AAU ball, but he really needs to start taking the game more serious. He has all the talent in the world but unless he starts working hard, it's going to go to waste. He did do a nice job on defense though and had a few blocks against the 6'10 kid that he was defending. Slusher may really come in to his own this year. I don't expect him to be an offensive threat but he plays hard and rebounds the ball very well and will make a living around the rim. At 6'4, he should be able to make a contribution off the bench for Holmes playing the 3 or 4.
