Hatton is the key to Dixie's success. If he can come in and contribute right away, he'll take a lot of pressure off of both Pike and Trammel. I'd also look for the current sophomore, Smith, to become more involved both offensively and defensively. He had several nice games last year. Dixie may be young, but they will be dangerous next year once they start maturing as a team.

Holmes v Christian Co should be a very good game. Christian Co only lost one senior in Wilford and Holmes returns their big 3.

Just saw this on Mike Dyer's blog on nky.com There has been recent Internet speculation about Aiken basketball standout Chane Behanan and his commitment to UC. I just spoke with Aiken coach Leon Ellison and he said Behanan is still orally committed to UC. Also, Ellison said Behanan is expected to still be at Aiken next school year. I saw where several coaches who have coached against him compared him to Bill Walker...would you say that's a fair assessment of his game?

I'd say Chane is probably the better low post player offensively but Elijah is the better all around player...being able to play both inside or out. Is that a fair assessment of the two?

GT, Elijah Pittman has been widely regarded as the best big man in the state...how do he and Chane compare to one another? Who would you say is better?

Where else would Sibert be, if not Princeton?

Just a preview of what people are in store for.... Chane will easily be the best player in the state for the c/o 2011...and that includes players like Zollo, Stenzel, Fant, Shanklin, Abell, Knipp, etc.

I've heard from a few people that he was seen at BGHS with his mother and uncle recently looking to enroll for next school year. Anyone know if the rumors of him heading there are true or not? Paging GT....

Wish this game would have been a year earlier. Princeton will be good next year with Sibert, but they lost the majority of their team from this year. They lose Orlando Williams (signed with Miami, OH), Stephon Johnson (signed with Penn St), and Marquis Home. All three were big time players and Williams was arguably their best player. Still, the Jordan Sibert v Ricardo Johnson match up will be well worth the price of admission.

Sure Pittman had his way with Euton that game but Pittman also had his way with a lot of other good players around the state as well such as Andy Donovan and Timmy Knipp. Does that mean they aren't good players either? No, it just means Pittman is the better player...but then again Pittman is probably the most talented kid in the state so you can't really look down on them for having a bad game against him. You can't really judge Euton on one game. Euton's numbers don't lie and were consistently solid all year against tough competition. People are going to be surprised when they see him next year. He's really working hard this summer and improving on both ends of the floor. I watched him have his way defensively with the Sullinger kid from All Ohio Red. I don't think he's SEC material, but Euton is definetly a D1 player. He would fit in well with a mid major program.

Sewell is no doubt a great talent and the D1 recruitment he's receiving speaks for itself, but his all around game isn't as good as Jackson, Guyn, Pittman, or R. Johnson...he's too inconsistent. The players just mentioned get it done when the competition is raised to another level.

Think about this for a second... If you take Ricardo Johnson off of Holmes team this past season and replace him with Josh Sewell, do they still go 36-2 and win the state title? Probably not... Ricardo Johnson is the best ALL AROUND player in the state, hands down. Insert Elijah Pittman's name into the first question and answer that. Again, the answer is going to be no. Sewell is a solid player but if you replace any of SC's big three with him, especially Guyn or Jackson, I doubt very seriously they dominate the 11th the way they did. Guyn is very smooth offensively and flat out gets after it on D. Jackson can play the 1,2, or 3 and is probably the best rebounding POINT GUARD in the state. Euton, while often criticized, has a great work ethic and is a double double guy night in and night out, regardless of the competition. I also don't think Sewell is as consistent as any of those 5. All mean more to their team than Sewell would.

Guyn is being heavily recruited by Western KY....they are very high on his list.

No way Sewell should be ahead of R. Johnson, Pittman, Guyn, or Jackson. All 4 have much better all around games than Sewell. Guyn, Pittman, and R. Johnson are also probably the 3 most athletically gifted kids in the state. Sewell is definetly a top 5 player in the state and a legit D1 prospect, but to say he's better than any of those 4 when he's accomplished no where near what they have is somewhat downgrading the talents of those 4.

Euton is having a very solid summer. In games with OBC he has went against some very talented kids such as Jared Sullinger and held his own. Dakotah's defense is really improving.

I don't think anyone has said that. If you read the thread title, this is for the CLASS OF 2010. There are several other teams around the state with D1 talent, who are more than capable of winning the state title next year such as Eastern (Marks, Abell, Gaines), GRC (Stenzel, Purvis, Zollo), Christian Co (Wilson, Kates), and Warren Central (Fant, Shanklin), to name a few.

Maxpreps has formed a list of the top 100 players in the country (c/o 2010) to watch this summer based on high school basketball production and success, AAU performance last summer, awards and honors, and potential for the next level. Holmes size and athleticism against Eastern's quickness and athleticism would create great match ups across the board. I also like the potential of a Holmes/GRC match up as well: R. Johnson, J. Johnson, Rice, Pittman v Stenzel, Rogers, Purvis, and Zollo This field is absolutely loaded with talent. :popcorn:

Maddox is very talented and athletic. I really like his game. Roy Stone and Aaron Nance of Seneca are two other players who could really open some eyes.

Some other players I'd add to the watch list: Ian Chiles and Keisten Jones- Ballard Deonte Maddox- Seneca Josh Stroud- Fairdale

Should be a very competitive field and exciting tournament. Anyone know how the brackets look and who plays who? Would really like to see Eastern, Holmes, and GRC play eachother...all three should be preseason top 5.
