Congrats to both Brandon and Jamel. They were both key components to Holmes success this past season and I wish them nothing but the best in their future endeavors.

I think the top 3 teams in the 7th next year will be Eastern, Male, and then J'town. I think Seneca could also surprise a lot of people. They return a nice nucleus with McElwain, Nance, Stone, and Maddox.

I'd add Male to that list as well. I really like them to surprise some people with Glenn, Hayes, and Pillischafske returning in the back court and Horne in the front court. Having Pillischafske for a full season at 100% is going to take a lot of pressure off of Hayes and Glenn and give them more open looks.

I see Covcath losing atleast 6 games next year: Lexcath, Holmes, Highlands, Boone Co, Mason Co, Toyota Classic (would have to beat Scott Co to win the tournament) Assuming they play 27 games heading in to the post season, I think they'll end up with 8-12 losses.

I'd say Cosby leaving J'town makes Eastern the hands down favorite to repeat as region champs next year with Gaines, Thomas, Abell, and Marks.

I spoke with Shawn's mother last night and the rumors of him transferring aren't true. He'll be staying put at Dayton.

Any updates from the 17U games at Sports Plus?

What's your reasoning for it being a bad idea? IMO, he could play the same role as Brandon Housely did for Holmes this past season.

I heard a few days ago that Shawn Eastin of Dayton may be transferring to Holmes over the summer. Anyone know if there's any truth to this, or heard the same thing?

Miller really struggled last year against Ricardo Johnson. I believe he finished with just 5 points that game.

Who else would you consider better than J. Johnson? Outside of R. Johnson and Pittman, there isn't a more talented player in nky.

Just read on another site that J'town's Aaron Cosby has decided to take the prep school route and will be playing next season for Northfield Mount Hermon School in Massachusetts. Cosby will also be reclassifying to the class of 2011.

Coleman is one of the most underrated players in nky, IMO.

Knipp is pretty solid offensively but it's his defense that lacks and makes the players I named better than him IMO. He is able to score, but struggles to defend the more athletic big men. (Again, see the Holmes game against Pittman as a perfect example, or the game against Ballard when 6'4 Jones really had his way down low) Zollo is more fundamentally sound at both ends of the floor and is a beast on the boards. Knipp really has never had to create his own shot because of the Faulkners and Ferg. It will be interesting to see how he does this upcoming season. I think a lot of his success should be attributed to having those three around him, always setting him up. Very rarely does he create off the dribble and he struggles with his back to the rim. As far as Abell, I completely agree. He and Marks, both of Eastern, are going to be one of the best 1-2 scoring combos in the state over the next two years.
