Who do you think are going to be the top 10 best players in the 9th region this year?

You could make a case for probably 15 different kids for 3-10 though. Some others who could emerge as top 10:

 

J. Geisler- Newcath

Stauffer- Ryle

Earls- Boone

Grubbs- Highlands

Rice- Holmes

Trammel- Dixie

Wellbrock- Covcath

IMO: Popp is not a top 10 player, but is in the 15-20 range.

It's really hard to rank top 10 in anything IMO. It's easier to rank a top 3 and put the rest of the top players in a group. Unless you have the opportunity to see individuals on the list play against each other and in head-to-head matchups, a lot of it becomes just opinion.

 

tash2597 identified a group of 17 above. Very little separates #4 through #20.

Does Holmes really have the top 3 players in the region without question? Pittman and R. Johnson are no doubt top talent in the state. I dont know much about J. Johnson but seems like to me someone else might be in that 3rd spot.

How long has it been since CovCath hasn't had one standout player? My guess is 8+ years.

There is no doubt Holmes has the top 3 players in the 9th region. Pittman & R. Johnson are 1st team all state and J. Johnson will be 2nd or 3rd team by pre-season. I don't see any other 9th region kids getting nominated for 1st, 2nd or 3rd team all state.

8 years? No, remember Vogel (sp?). He got a scholarship to Pennsylvania (Ivy League) if I'm not mistaken.
