I heard a few days ago that Shawn Eastin of Dayton may be transferring to Holmes over the summer.

Anyone know if there's any truth to this, or heard the same thing?

I think this would be a bad idea for Mr. Eastin

What's your reasoning for it being a bad idea?

IMO, he could play the same role as Brandon Housely did for Holmes this past season.

That is a complete farce to think that Eastin could do anything for Holmes high school basketball except be the equipment manager!

Unless Mr. Eastin is a point guard he might want to consider staying put. Kevan Arnold will fill the void lost by Housley and DJ.

I spoke with Shawn's mother last night and the rumors of him transferring aren't true. He'll be staying put at Dayton.

This couldn't be further from the truth...Even though there is no truth to the rumor, IMO there is no doubt that he could crack the 8/9 man rotation for the Bulldogs. Not saying he would come in and start, but equipment manager...get serious man

Kyle Daniels from Beechwood should be added to the top ten IMHO.

Did he play much on Varsity last year? I remember seeing him on JV and thought he was a pretty good ball player!

He did not see much time at the Varsity level last season simply because there were many good seniors ahead of him at his position. (Snyder, Chuckwagon) I was told by many Beechwood players that he is one of the most dedicated, hardest workers on the team and that he is making many improvements in the off season. Look forward to seeing him play next season.

9. Grote (Highlands)

10. Pangallo (Newcath)

You could make a case for probably 15 different kids for 3-10 though. Some others who could emerge as top 10:

J. Geisler- Newcath

Stauffer- Ryle

Earls- Boone

Grubbs- Highlands

Rice- Holmes

Trammel- Dixie

Wellbrock- Covcath

Here are 15 I take ahead of him. I can't see a player who doesn't already get quite a bit of varsity minutes vaulting into the top 10 the following year over those who already get floor time. I could see by the end of the year with his hard work paying off moving up the list as he is a nice player.

I agree with you on this, but I believe also that there is talent in the Class of 2010 that we have not heard of yet that could have a good year and add even more to this talented Class next year, and with summer camps and AAU this summer I am sure there will be some players that fall into this area.

I think this is a well thought out list.

Thelen .... CCH

You're putting Thelen in the top 10 all ready? Whats the justification?

You can also throw the following in the mix for top 10:

Coleman (Ryle), Popp (Boone)

I heard it is likely that Popp will be transferring to Ryle Highschool. Anyone know anymore on this subject?
