KY East-West All star game Rosters

Featured Replies

Wow with three top players from the east not playing, it looks like the west has the experience on paper.

How does Beechwood end up in the West?

How does Beechwood end up in the West?

They were last year also???

I am pretty sure that all classes statewide districts 1-4 are the West team and districts 5-8 are the East team.

Teams that are in the West side of the Playoff Brackets are on the West team, and the teams in the East side of the Playoff Brackets are on the East.

I don't really know much about where Bullitt East players' classes fall, for instance, if that running back they had that took Bell County to the wire in the championship was a senior...or for that matter if any of their stars were seniors. But, after looking at the rosters of both teams, I don't see one representative of the class 4A runners up. Maybe I missed something?....or are they just a really young talented team to watch for this next year?

They were a senior dominated team and I agree that they should have somone on the roster especially their running back. He was a beast and also very good.

Well, if that is the case, and they gave Bell all they wanted....it is a shame that they aren't represented by someone. I listened to that game on the radio, but, couldn't remember much about their players. I just remembered that the running back almost single handedly took that game over.

If you recall he did all of this in the first half the second half Bell shut him down the second half. He deserves to be on the all star team he had a great season.

I am not going to argue who is/isn't playing, but I will tell you that I am cheering for the East!

East, TCB!!!!!!

I know that's how they do it but I did find it amusing when Boyle County is represented on the East Team and Danville on the West. In normal geography Boyle's school sits to the West of Danville !!

Funny.

I agree its funny, but keep in mind how the KHSAA tries to divide the teams in the East and West brackets. They look at the total number of teams in a class, put those teams on a map of the state and try to find the dividing line so that 1/2 of the teams are in the East and the other 1/2 are in the West brackets. Evidently there are more 2A (I think Danville is 2A correct?) teams to the east of Danville, which placed them in the West and such was not the case with Boyle in 4A. That's why Beechwood was in the 1A West, but some other northern Kentucky teams to the geographic west of Beechwood were in the eastern brackets for their classes.

The true aberation is Trinity and X. This past year they were both in the West 6A bracket I believe. But for the All Star game, one school's players are on the East and the other school's on the West. I have to assume this was done just to try and balance the strength of rosters. Someone associated with the game can tell me if my assumption is wrong.

It is based on district numbers. Each class has 8 districts with districts 1-4 representing the west and 5-8 representing the east.

Trinity ended up playing in the west half of the 6A bracket this year because they crossed district 5 with 4 in the playoffs (or something to that effect). Every class except 6A played 1vs2, 3vs4, 5vs6, and 7vs8.
