I understand the reliable source, I just don't buy his reasoning. I think there is likely more to it. And yes I've heard the Pittman and disinterested combo a couple of times this season.

At the beginning I chalked it up to youth and immaturity, but after the first couple of times that excuse wore out its welcome. Time to make a statement...it reflects poorly on the program to let a kid get out of hand. I'm positive someone will jump on me for that, but it's the truth. However, I wouldn't call this their biggest game of the season. Although it was a district game and a must win, I don't feel like it was a huge game.

Ok so one person has Pittman playing with "intensity" and another says he looked disinterested. Which is it? I too have a hard time believing he did not start in a district matchup [regardless of opponent] because of needing a "quicker" lineup or the ability to press.

You wouldn't happen to play for Beechwood would you? lol.

Beechwood's student section was not big at all, so if HC's was even smaller on their home court that would be pretty sad..

Disappointing to hear Arnold got yet another T. Also good to see D. Johnson get the points tonight. We know the Johnson brothers and Pittman can do it, now we know D. Johnson can lead too. I did not notice HC pushing and shoving too much when they played CovCath but honestly wasn't looking too hard. I did know last night the refs let Beechwood get away with a lot as far as Romes and Beautell lowering their shoulders and AJ Smith [though he got called for pushing at one point] pushing, so maybe these refs just like to let it get physical. Sounds like Holmes handled that well anyways..

Ricardo deserved it. Pittman could have deserved it, except he just isn't an actual floor leader yet. Next year... And Mcfarland is good, but the times I've seen him, POY didn't come to mind.

Saw Isler laughing a bit at the talk. I think it's all part of the game as long as it doesn't get to a certain level where it takes away from the players overall game. At times Pittman lets that happen. But I think he has gotten some control over that. This was a good game and a good win for Beechwood. CovCath self destructed and Beechwood took advantage of that. Advice for next years team, when youre up by 9, don't take 3's...I mean I thought that might have been obvious but yet we still jacked them up...and missed. lol. Beechwood's Beautell [sp] was lights out, really great. Romes def. has hops, and it, as someone said, was not a show off extraordinary dunk, just a plain dunk that sent the message that he can do it. Good luck against holmes on Friday if Holmes wins tonight. I'd love for you all to win..:thumb:

Why are you getting defensive? I know for a fact CCH students were down in the area at 3:30 tailgating. And they got in line around 4:30. I was in the line. I would also look for HC kids to be hanging around after school obviously. And I think there will be about the same amount of people at this game as the one last night. As for Pittman. I think he'll handle HC down low. The only person who can hold Pittman down is Pittman himself. He lets his yapping and his emotions get the best of him at times, so as a HC fan that is probably the best hope. I wouldn't be shocked to see HC pull this off, but I doubt it happening.

If Ricardo Johnson had not won the POY award for DI, I would imagine you would be on here making argument after argument of why he should have been. The beauty of this board is that it allows for debate. I think an argument can be made for Flanagan or Bryan..

Don't know. CCH's students were there tailgating as early as 3:00. came up to the gate at 4:30. I think the game tomorrow will have as many people as tonights did, but I doubt there will be more.

I arrived to the CCH/Bwood game at 4:15 today and got in just fine. I would get there no later than 4:45, just a suggestion. Also, I see holmes winning this one as long as they play their game, and then cruising past Beechwood. But it wouldn't overly surprise me if HC shocks some people.

100% dead on. If Maile drives it in, and the guards get the ball into their bigs this game is going to be much different than the first time around. Should be a good one!

I do not believe they were a factor. CCH resorted to their panic offense from the beginning really. Hope to see them utilize their inside game this time around, if not then it will likely be a W for the Beechwood Tigers. If they get it into their big men I can see CovCath pulling this off nicely.

Was told by very reliable sources they will NOT be clearing the gym between games. I find this to be very poor decision making. Personally, and I'm sure this will put many up in arms, Holy Cross should NOT be able to hold districts. I understand about the money situation, earning money through the gate etc. But there have to be ways to rectify this situation in the future..

Brake at Conner is solid for sure. But there is a reason Isler was given the award so credit has to be given. Not to mention that isn't even the position it looks like he will be playing in college...

Holy Smokes!!! Wellbrock had 6 pts, Isler with 12, could have been more for both. This stat makes me think you gotta throw it into your big boys from now on. That is atrocious shooting! :puke:

The single biggest issue with Cov Cath is the lack of a PG. No ding on any of the boys who have played the position this year, they just weren't ready. Strong PG play would have forced a more team oriented approach. In lieu of this, one or two players are trying to do it all at the expense of the team. Coach L needs to address this or the boys in blue will be watching the district final from the bleachers.

From what I heard in the stands last night, the retreat is not mandatory.

Actually, if they had played more of the NKY schools this last year their record would have most likely included more wins and less losses. It still wouldn't have changed the problems with the coach.

Not sure what you've been watching. Isler is being recruited by some D1 and D2 schools for pitching. Nutini is being recruited mainly as an outfielder from what I have been told by some reliable sources. Both are great players and I expect them both to have great seasons. I watch both their high school and summer teams almost every game and neither gets "rocked" very often.
