Obviously its too soon to know what players will play their part this season. But I believe that Lloyd Memorial will surprise people this year. They have had a strong conditioning program, and it will continue through the season. I have never seen the coaches so dedicated and striving too be physically fit, mentally ready, and to enhance players skills. With only one day down, it is easy to see that there is a big change in Lloyd's baseball program. And the team will be tough. They have the more dedicated players at Lloyd this year, then i have witnessed in the past four years.

Could you please add Cooper to the list. First year program had their first "parent and player" meeting last night. There were about 50-60 kids show up from 8th thru 12th grades. Coach Bieger says he will have Varsity and JV next year with about 16-17 kids on each team, depending on what he sees this week during tryouts. With almost zero Seniors it will probably be a rough season but he seemed very excited with the turnout and hopes to add Freshman ball next season. The field and facilities are very nice.

I think we're in for a very exciting season in the 9th. Look for a lot of balance without alot of domination. I'm curious to see if the Breds from NCC can repeat. Bellevue will more than likely surprise a few teams this season as they're well coached. How will Boone do with their new coach? They return some talent as well as Holy Cross and CovCath.

It's gonna be a great spring!!!!!:dancingpa

I like Cov Cath, Conner, and NCC as three favorites going into the season, but obviously lots of things can and do change during the course of the season. There are several other solid teams out there that could make some noise, including (but certainly not limited to) Bellevue, Highlands, HC, and Ryle. Ryle will hit and field well, but will need to find some pitching if they are to meaningfully compete for a regional championship (or district, for that matter).

Beechwood will be like CovCath and NCC one solid pitcher and average play the rest of the way.

Man, I hate defending CC (:p) but they will have more than one solid pitcher and are certainly better than "average" in many of their position spots.

Lets hear from a fan of each team, give us your scouting report on your team.

Bellevue:

Contrary to popular belief Bellevue season will not live or die with Hunter Jones. He will do his part. That's a given. The Tigers will go as far as their pitching will take them this year. They have reliable starting pitching in Scott and Piper but after that they are unproven. They will have good team speed and a lot of kids whom have always played on winning teams. These kids know how to win, which has been in short supply among the upper class men at Bellevue. The middle will be very solid with returners at short (Hunter Jones), second (David Combs), and Center (Thomas Barrett). The infield corners will be filled with some familiar faces but inexperienced at the positions. Ricky Buckler will compete for the third base job with Jim Scott, Billy Snider and others. With Tony Piper, Snider, Josh McIntyre and others competing at first base. Catching duties will fall to Alex Hegge, Travis Lyvers, and Shaun Kersey. The outfield corners will be filled with a combination of Scott, Lyvers, Travis Reeves, and Chad Thompson. All in all this will be the most experienced team Bellevue has fielded in quite some time. Hopefully it translates to wins.:dancingpa:dancingpa

Heritage Academy: Very small school, but had a good year last year and will miss badly one of 2 seniors that graduated in Nick Elwert, who got a baseball scholarship. We do have new kids that transfered in that will help. Returning is one of leaders in Strikeouts pitcher John Michael Schroer. Gave St. Henry a run for the money last year in districts and almost pulled off the upset. Looking forward to seeing how Heritage does this year. I know this if any kids that go to big schools and not good enough for there teams could go to a school like Heritage and help them a bit.
