Welll you're going to have to find him first. And you have it on my honor that he is not schackled in chains and locked to the wall of the Ryle high school dungeon. But if he were, he would likely remain in this state until the CCH position is announced. Just a guess on my part.

Who do you think will be Cov Cath new football coach.

My choice will be Wolfe from Ryle

I would like to see Coach Ray have some heavy input into who the next coach is. Rumor, and I stress rumor, he did not like the last two choices. Lets face it, he took Cov Cath from the basesment to the penthouse. I just think his opinion should be valued.

Glad to here Coach Ray has agreed to run the CovCath Football winter program until a new coach is in place.

Bob Rowe (he is the CCH Principal) needs to set up a committee and go with their recommendation. In my opinion, Coach Ray is one of the people that should be on the committee along with some other CCH alum that are solid and experienced football people. As a rule of thumb, anyone currently involved with CCH (outside of Coach Ray) should be disqualified from the committee.

The worst thing Rowe can do is put all of his eggs in one basket only to have that coach say no. If word gets out that Rowe has is heart set on someone (say Wirth from Hamilton Badin) that word will keep most other qualified candidates from ever expressing an interest and/or applying.

Where's the popcorn?

The problem Rowe has is he does not have the luxury of time. The way the basketball team is playing the clock for spring pracitice could start on March 2. I got a email from someone who was at the game last night and word was that they are giving people till

Feb 4 to apply.

I do agree the new coach must not be the pick of just one man.

Agreed. I did not mean for it to sound like this should be Coach Rays descision or that he should have veto power. I would like to see him involved in the committee. I do not want Mr. Rowe to rush anything or to make up his mind before a committee could look at any and all canidates. However, the pace of this situation needs to be accelerated. IMO, this all could/should have started with in two weeks of the last game of the season. That would have been almost two months ago.

February 4th? You are joking, right?

That is want my friend heard , he did not say who told him that but he is a football parent. He also said that there is very little talk about possible coaches applying besides Wolfe and Wirth.I hope it is joke also.

In re the basement part, I didn't realize that CovCath had been doing so badly when Coach Ray took over the head coaching responsibilities. Who was the head coach before him and how did that coach do in his last year? What was Coach Ray's record in his first couple of seasons as head coach? I tried to find the info on CovCath's website, but couldn't find it.

Fred Bernier was the coach before Coach Ray.

Just think, if Ray had been coaching these past two years with his record, he would have been gone also. Took him 5 seasons to get a winning season.:idunno:
