Any glaring problems here. 1. Trey Beutel is from Beechwood.

2. Beechwood over the last two years with this senior class is 28-0. Are in the top 10 in the state in Defense in point allowed per game. They are playing straight up man to man 99% of the time, and they do not get defensive player of the year, or player of the year, or even Mr Hustle. They have a player who nearly averaged a double/double agaisnt DIII and didn't even make the team, somethings smells bad along the river and it isn't the water!!

3. Those boys deserved better! :deadhorse:

While I agree Trey Beuttel or Brian Romes of Beechwood should have gotten the award for POY in DIII, I can see the argument for Joe Flannigan. Not only is he second in nky in points scored with over 500 on the year, but he also led his team to the State All "A" tournament. IMO all of the awards were well deserved.

How can Blake Bryan not be the POY in D3. He is the leading scorer in the State of KY?????

If Bryan doesn't get it I do understand the selection of Flannigan also. He led Calvary to the best year in school history.

On a side note, this is the third year in a row that Holmes has had the D1 POY and defensive POY:

08/09- Ricardo Johnson

07/08- Arrez Henderson

06/07- Austin Hill

A lot of it has to do with the success of Flanigan AND his team.

If it were simply a stat based award, Ricardo Johnson wouldn't have won the D1 POY either since Pittman averages more points than him and is the leading D1 scorer in NKY.

Both Ricardo and Flanigan are what take their teams to that next level though, which is the reason for their recognition as being the best player in their division. Again, I see all of these awards as being well deserved by those mentioned.

I was somewhat surprised Grant Pangallo didn't get the D 2 Mr. Hustle award. In the few times I have seen them play, he doesn't stop. He is consistently diving on the floor/stands, taking charges, etc. I can't really think of a better candidate. However, I have only seen Anderson a few times, so I don't want to take anything away from him.

Ryan Anderson is great kid who leaves it all on the floor. He's been in and out of the starting line up all season. He has taken full advantage of his first year full year on varsity and played very well. I actually thought he would be a finalist but also thought St. Henry senior Joey Swikert was just as deserving.

Congrats to all. I am a little surprised to see Rico get D-1 POY over Elijah however

Both are deseving, but remember the Coaches vote on this. RJ handles himself very well on the floor, could of played a part.:idunno:
