Beechwood has been cheated out of awards two straight years now. No offense to Flanagan or any others, they are all good players, but I just feel that with the way they dominated the conferance they should have gotten most of these awards.

Beechwood is the best team in D III this year, but they don't have the best player in D III. That award has to go to Bryan. The award doesn't go to the best player on the best team, but the best player in the conference. I don't think that Beechwood was cheated last year either. The best player was Love, yet BW was the best team. I agree that Romes deserves Defensive player of the year.

They got Romes and Beuttel. Those are the only undoubted guys they should've had.

As a Bryan fan, you know how good Romes is on defense. As to Bryan not being Player of the Year, do you think it was because he is a junior? If a junior can be player of the year, I still bet that some of the voters try to vote for seniors on these awards.

Congrats to the players...nice to see McFarland make the All-Star list, and also Andrew Brown win the Academic Award. I know his older brother...great family.

I don't think it has to do with him being a junior. I think some of it probably has to do with the lack of team success comparative to Flanigan, and some of it probably has to do with his court demeanor. Just reality...

We all have to remember that depsite what we think, it was the COACHES that voted on this. When it's your peers who select you for an award, it should be held in much higher regard IMO.

 

AGAIN, all those nominated were well deserving and it's somewhat disrespectful to try and take away from this recognition that they're receiving because of a personal bias.

If Bryan doesn't get it I do understand the selection of Flannigan also. He led Calvary to the best year in school history.

 

This is crazy you are right how does Bryan not get D3 POY his stats are all most 2 times as good as Flanningan. Isn't POY a Player award not a team award? If it goes to the player that teams does the best it has to go to one of the Beechwood boys!!!

If you look a POY as I do it is the person that makes the player on the team better look at the ast. Flanagan 44,Beuttel 80. No dis on Fanagan but to over look others with better records team and personal. Maybe this award is more personal than fact. If so that is a shame.

Look at the competition Villa plays. Against Beechwood Bryan had 15 points the first game and im not 100% sure about the second game but almost positive it was 15 points again, well below his average.

He also had 35 on Louisville Seneca a top 10 team in the state.

33 on St.H, Calvary 30 and 19. Dixie 37,NC 26, Newport 37. I believe all good competition. How many Beechwood or Calvary players sees the focus D that Bryan does?
