Very simple. Hire Trevor Rhye. He has been in the program as a player and asst. coach. Played college ball, bleeds Maroon. Great teacher, great person. He will get Mad-ville back to Rupp.

Congrats to both! Corey is a flat out winner and has been extremely successful at every level he has played. He will be a great example to the kids of Silver Grove how hard work and dedication truly pays off. Best of luck to him in his coaching career!

Interesting. Wilmington was 5-16 last year. And that was with one of the most talented freshman in Ohio and KY.

Money is always going to be an issue at a Catholic school and that will limit the pool of candidates. That is a big reason why many of them promote from within. Most public school teacher/coach would take a 15 to 20 K salary cut. So that pretty much limits the pool to other NKY parochials and GCL guys. And for many of them, they have been at their respective schools long enough where they have a few other jobs/titles to make a few extra bucks, which if they make a move those extras may not be available.

Kent does a very good job imo. Would be a good hire.

Sounds like it was a resign or your fired situation. Pretty sad. Whoever is hired will make the 7th coach in 10 years-can't build anything that way. That community deserves better out of their decision makers.

This is what I have heard: REGION 6 District 21 - Central, DuPont Manual, Portland Christian, Shawnee, St. Francis District 22 - Brown, Louisville Collegiate, Male, St. Xavier District 23 - Atherton, Seneca, Trinity, Waggener District 24 - Ballard, Christian Academy-Louisville, Eastern, Kentucky Country Day, Walden REGION 7 District 25 - Beth Haven, Fairdale, Holy Cross (Louisville), Pleasure Ridge Park, Valley District 26 - Butler, DeSales, Doss, Iroquois, Western District 27 - Bullitt Central, Evangel Christian, Moore, North Bullitt, Southern District 28 - Bullitt East, Fern Creek, Jeffersontown, Whitefield Academy Seems like much more balance than the current scenario.

IMO, DeSales has played the toughest in state schedule of anyone. Took some lumps early, but looks like it is paying off.

10 days removed from their last football game? I could maybe see this at a smaller school, but McNick is a decent size school. There are plenty of schools that deal with this every year and make due (NewCath, Highlands, Beechwood). I would not be happy if I was CovCath. Don't schedule the games if you can't honor them. Even if you take some lumps and limit the footballers minutes, some younger guys will get some valuable experience. I'm sure NewCath would love to play Dixie later in the year and have a fresh Jake Giesler and Brady Hightchew, but they will still play next Thursday even if a few JV guys have to pull a few more minutes.

I am 95% certain Hester was not on the bench for NKU vs Xavier the other night. There was a guy that looked like him while warming up, but after sitting behind their bench, I am almost positive it was not him.

From the stories I have heard, 3 guys from the 50s not mentioned are Froggy Redmond of Newport, Jimmy Briede Newport Catholic and Roger Tieman of CovCath.

Jason Skirvin was the best N.KY high school running back not named Alexander in the last 20 years. As stated, an excellent official, but to top it off even a better person. Total class act. I really wish he was in coaching. He could have a great impact on many people. Small schools are going to go through dry spells. Zach is a good guy and very knowledgeable.

Steve Hart will have them running and gunning! Its a good thing to have him back on the sidelines. He is in it for the kids and they will play hard, you can guarantee that.

Terry Brown is the new coach at Pendleton County. Just announced today.

Not sure if there was a Steve Brown, but I know there was a Terry Brown at CC. Relative of the Sandfoss family, played at Campbellsville in college. Young, energetic, would do a great job.

Rumor around Silver City is that Scott Wiggins, former NY Yankee and NewCath alum, will be the new basketball coach. Not 100 %, but pretty close. I believe he has ben affliated with the school in some capacity recently.
