And if there will be any other realignments as well. I kinda figured that the new Commish would want to put his stamp on basketball, given the football changes.

 

However, changes should not be undertaken simply for the purpose of change.

The tricky thing here could be the future status of the three Bullitt County schools. With the western consolidations in Muhlenberg and McCracken counties regions 1-4 may have to reach eastward to get to at least 16 teams. If Region 5 loses a couple teams, I could see the Bullitts ending up in Region 5. There are currently 38 schools in Jefferson County, which divided evenly gives you 19 schools in each region, more than enough to guarantee four team districts.

If that's the case, then you can almost guarantee the entire 25th District (Manual, Male, X, Collegiate, and Mercy) are headed to the 6th.

It appears that Ballard,Trinity,Seneca, and Eastern will move to the 6th as well.

Do you have any kind of rough view of what the two regions would look like? I'm trying to work something out but I can't come up with anything!

Just received text that Bullitt East is now in a 7th region district with Fern Creek, Whitfield Academy, and Jeffersontown... Really surprised that for the first time the Bullitt Co. schools are broken up within the district.

District 22 - Brown, Louisville Collegiate, Male, St. Xavier

District 23 - Atherton, Seneca, Trinity, Waggener

District 24 - Ballard, Christian Academy-Louisville, Eastern, Kentucky Country Day, Walden

REGION 7

District 25 - Beth Haven, Fairdale, Holy Cross (Louisville), Pleasure Ridge Park, Valley

District 26 - Butler, DeSales, Doss, Iroquois, Western

District 27 - Bullitt Central, Evangel Christian, Moore, North Bullitt, Southern

District 28 - Bullitt East, Fern Creek, Jeffersontown, Whitefield Academy

 

Seems like much more balance than the current scenario.

Losers: Bullitt East (in with J-Town and Fern Creek); Central (in with Ballard, Eastern, Male, Seneca, Manual and Trinity)

Basically, instead of an East-West alignment, they've simply gone to a North-South alignment...
