Does it get any better than this? The two premier all-male private schools in Cincy vs. their counterparts in the Commonwealth and one of the top 6A public schools in KY (historically at least) against the top Division I public school in Ohio (historically at least).

 

I don't think this has ever happened before. I am really pumped about it. How awesome would it be if you could put all three games in one stadium and play them back-to-back-to-back? And then, make it a yearly event as a Cincy vs. Louisville challenge aligning it with the same week the Bearcats and Cardinals play each other!

 

Imagine, those three games on Friday night at Nippert followed by Cards/Bearcats Saturday night at the same locale. Who wouldn't want to see that?!

 

And there are so many good teams you could rotate them. For our friends in KY, we could certainly keep them parochial vs. parochial and public vs. public. :deadhorse:

 

What are your thoughts? Care to share your prediction on the 3 game set?

 

I will...I'll call for the trifecta. I think OH sweeps the Commonwealth on these three games and once again proclaims KY as that farm state that is overrated in basketball. :banana:

Wow, that is crazy. It didn't really hit me how big of a weekend it is lol. I wish all of these games were on tv. Can't make it to any of them. And i agree it'd be a good setup to play some games like this and then play the UC vs. Louisville game.

 

Anyways, I'll go with an OH sweep.

I think out of the three games Louisville St. X is the one that has a chance for an upset.

Are they even playing or are you hoping? That would be awesome if so.

All I know is the Manual - Colerain game will take about 2 hrs to play.

Wing-T vs. Triple option, should be called the time warp game or the all 70's bowl.

A few problems with your proposal. The obvious being, you can't possibly play three regular season high school games in the same venue on a school day. So, three games on Friday, especially when half the schools will be traveling two plus hours, is not an option.

 

Possible solution would be to play two on Friday, and one on Saturday as a prelude to the college game. Or, better yet, one on Friday and two on Saturday as a prelude to a Saturday night kickoff of the college game. Unfortunately, this isn't really a viable option, as TV will determine the kickoff of the college game from season to season, and there's no changing that.

 

But the dagger to the whole idea, is that the date of the UC-UL game changes annually, and there's no way high school teams can hold a date open when they have no clue what the date will be. Can't happen. Nice enough pipe dream though. I'd say enjoy this weekend, because three matchups like this aren't able to be arranged in the same weekend very often.

 

And, I'll take the Ohio schools in all three games, while closely watching updates of the X's.

 

As for the end of your comments, I bet there are more working farms in Ohio than Kentucky. And, if Colerain ever wants to cross the river to play a game of basketball, I can promise you you'd have plenty of schools willing to book a game.

All schools involved are class act programs with great tradition. Let all the traveling teams have a safe journey. Never underestimate Louisville Trinity..if you do bad things will happen. Manual is a young team that will be a force come playoff time in the great state of Kentucky. As for Louisville St.Xavier...If Cincy St.X thinks this will be a cake walk, forget it. Louisville St.X will bring it's A game with speed that can score from any part of the field. Good luck to all the teams.

I just think Elder is way to strong for Trinity. ST. X OH defensive will be too much For St. X KY. On the scoreboard this game may seem close because St. X OH offensive is kind of streaky and you really never know what you are going to get. I am saying 31 to 3 but I also think its could be 24 to 0 or 21 to 7, something around that. ST. X OH is a winner no doubt. Colerain 55 Manual 0, Manual has no chance, even though Colerain is 0 – 2 but their losses come against X and Elder. This one will be done very early.
